These pencils are hands down my favorite art supply. They are fantastic for sketching because they look a lot more interesting than a plain graphite sketch, and great for small accents AND larger areas of color. Being able to just let the color flow however the pencil decides is a fantastic exercise in just letting go and allowing your creativity to take control. Recommend these for any beginner or seasoned artist who wants to try something new. The neon works under blacklight as well!

I have these in my writing center for my kindergarten students. They are the favorite writing tool in the center. They are well-made, sturdy, and easy to grip. The students can sharpen them on their own without breaking off the tips of the pencil. The quality can’t be beat

The neon pencil looks great when illuminated by black light. The fire pencil does its job quite well and I've found that the tropical blend pencil can sometimes look almost opalescent. I really do love using them. These pencils are always challenging me to find new ways to use them in my therapeutic coloring.

Wow these are great! Lol. I mean, if you like colors that are together like this. But I did. They are very large colored pencils. Maybe need to grab a bigger pencil sharpener if you get these. Luckily I had one that fit! :)I did a picture in a cute and creepy book and used these and the outcome was awesome. The ability to have multiple colors at a turn of the pencil was great and made my picture look so unique. I would absolutely buy these again when they get low. Love love love.

Love having these around! They're such a great way to add dimension to an otherwise flat drawing lightning fast. I really enjoy how unpredictable they are. For what's a novelty tool, I've been pleasantly surprised how pigmented and layerable these can be.The 'original' one gets the most use by far, I've practically whittled it down to a stump, but the others have their place too (except the neon. Not a big fan of it).I don't have any pictures handy, but these are also great for life drawing. Again, these guys make quick sketches look far more impressive than they'd be otherwise. The only thing I might say is I prefer to sharpen my pencils with a knife instead of a standard sharpener, and have found that the wood is tough to work with and the lead is prone to breaking. But I understand that they just aren't made for that.Definitely check these out! Lots of fun!

These pencils put down intense colour in somewhat unexpected ways, enriching the process. Like them so much I ordered the 13-pencil set but they turned out to be different. Small set has contrasting hues in the pencil, but larger set has analogous hues. In contrast to the five colour set, they are OK but not at all exciting.

So I recently learned about these pencils, and decided to give them a try. One thing is, I went into this purchase knowing that these pencils aren't really ideal for coloring in things to have any sort of lifelike colors. I was mostly interested in using them for my doodling and sketches, because sometimes I get bored with just plain graphite pencils, but I also don't like sketching in ink or pen because I have a hard time getting any sort of value gradient with them.I purposely chose to sketch in the red white and blue colored pencil, because most people were saying they felt like that pencil had the least amount of variation or flexibility in color. I figured if that was the least popular color, then if I didn't like it, I would at least have the other pencils to play with. I started off with the American flag, and started with a rough sketch of my dog, then did a light sketch of a girl in colonial underclothing. After that I decided that the rough sketch of my dog was actually looking pretty cute, so I went in and finished all his curly poodle fur, and I really tried to push how dark and hard I colored with the pencil, and added shading and blending, all with the same red/white/blue pencil. I was worried that going over the curly hair in lots of layers might make it look weird, but I really like the effect! Now I just have to decide if I like keeping the tip of these pencils round and smooth, because it makes it nice to shade with, but less precise, or if I prefer to keep the tip sharp because then you can control where your pencil tip goes a little more easily...
