Order Arrived defective. Ordered replacement, replacement lost in shipment. Tried again and was told part would be over 4 weeks before delivery. Has been a terrible experience and seller is VERY hard to work with. Would give them a zero if I could. Returned defective order and am trying now to get refund. No compassion or help from anyone at this company. Would steer clear of themAdditional note: Amazon A-Z Guarantee should cover this as they guarantee the condition of the product delivered. HOWEVER we seem to NOT be getting co operation from Amazon on this defective item sent to us that we HAD to return. Still trying to work with them but item was returned 7/5/24 and it's now 7-27-24. It was defective..we should get a FULL refund.

I'm a retired automotive technician, so these were not a big deal to install. YouTube videos will be a big help if you need them. They come with easily understandable instructions. I had verified no spark on one cylinder when the engine was hot and replacing both coils was a no brainer. Mower has more power, starts easier and runs like new since I installed these. My engine is a pre-2005. Make sure you are ordering the correct coils for the serial number of your engine.Well worth the money. I don't like doing the same work over because I cheaped out on replacement parts. The $30 parts might work, but for how long?

OEM ignition module from Kohler. Not too bad to install - you have to remove outer cowling on engine to get to them. You will need feeler gauges to set correct clearance off of flywheel. If your not mechanically inclined or don’t have the proper tools, then don’t attempt to change them out yourself. These OEM modules are more expensive than cheaper Chinese junk modules, but you only want to change them once, so save yourself some grief and get the OEM modules. My OEM modules lasted 21 years before one quit. Not bad. Aftermarket modules would never go that long. You get what you pay for….

I have a 1997 Cub Cadet 2284 Super Garden tractor. Originally, there were a bad batch of modules that plagued the Kohler engines and I had replaced one in 1997. The other lasted 23 years and it finally died. I was replacing both this time. Considering replacements, the cheaper and this set of OEM, I decided on OEM. Glad I did. Both modules work fine. Woke this old tractor right up. The only modification needed was mounting holes on one module needed a few thousandths removed from the inside front to allow the .030 mm (.012 in) clearance to be set between the module and flywheel. A small burr bit on a die grinder and a few seconds of touch up was all that was needed. Fired right up as soon as it was reassembled.
