Had high hopes for this one. Out of the box the sections tightened up and extended but when we needed it on the boat, the section closest to the handle would not tighten.

Although this item is used on a boat, I use mine for the back of my truck. I cannot reach items if they slide to the front of the truck bed so I just use the boat hook to grab the item and pull it towards the tailgate so that I can now reach the item. Realize that it is not for grabbing heavy items (common sense to prevail).

First hook arrived broken. Replaced quickly from customer service. The pole seems to be of decent quality however the hook is questionable plastic. Time will tell if it holds up.

I'm happy with this product. It's sturdy, good quality. My wish was that I'd purchased one that was about 4 inches longer, but that's my fault. I'm using this to grab the floating line from my pool vacuum and I must lean just a bit to reach it in the middle of my pool. I leave it extended for convenience and I leave it outside with my pool supplies. No idea if the winter and summer weather will be too harsh for longevity, but it appears to be good enough quality to survive the elements for several years. Overall very happy with the purchase.
