Applied these to replace 35-year old brake pads on a vintage mountain bike. They work great, as expected, with ample grip for braking power. The only downside is that it took some fiddling to get them in place with the right camber, but that's not the fault of the brake pads, more the fault of the installer (me!).

The only brake pads I will put on my bike. Stops better than anything else, even in wet conditions.

These brake pads have a great reputation, and I will eventually have them on all my bikes. It always takes me several attempts to get new brake pads completely dialed in, but now that I have positioned these at the proper angle and distance from the rim, they are quiet and have great stopping power. Highly recommended.

The old mountain bike I have have these brake pads, so I thought it's a good idea to buy exactly the same product. Really am glad that I found it on Amazon. The only suggestion that I would have is that it might be good idea for this company to include Shoe Eye Bolt sets in the package. I have to buy new Shoe Eye Bolts for my these. Might as well sell the whole package so as a buyer, we don't have to buy other parts.

These are probably the best cantilever pads I've used. My bike previously had some no-name black-compound pads, which in wet conditions had barely any stopping power and squealed like a dying pig. By contrast, these pads have great stopping power in wet and dry conditions and have basically eliminated all brake squeal from my bike. Some other reviewers have had brake squeal issues with these pads so YMMV. They do need to be properly installed and toed-in which is always a pain point with canti brakes. But at least on my bike with my brakes, these work perfectly!

Great pads for bikes that use non-threaded post brake shoes. Proper installation is key for best stopping power and avoiding brake pad squeal.A few installation tricks--When the pads arrive, sand the faces with 80 grit sand paper on a flat bench. Move the pads lengthwise along the sandpaper until the pad surface has fine sanding lines.-Mind the "direction" arrows on the pads - they should point to the front of the wheels- "Toeing" the pads is critical. The front of the pad must contact the rim first. I put a zip tie around the back of the pad and use that as an installation spacer. When I get the pads tight, I remove the zip tie and it's properly spaced (see photo).-Clean the wheel rims with rubbing alcohol or Brake Kleen. Dirty rims = squeal. If you follow those steps, these pads should work great. I initially skipped the sanding step and I regretted it because the pads squealed like a piglet. Once I sanded them, quiet ensued. Hope that helps!

These replaced the 20+ year old brake pads on my Trek 930 that I converted for bike path riding. After the initial installation there was a lot of squeaking and shudder, but by carefully sanding off the manufactured finish of the contact surface and providing ample toe-in to the installed pads they now provide very smooth and easy braking.I have to mention that the wheel rims are pretty badly grooved from the old age-hardened black rubber pads and embedded grit, but these Kool Stop pads provide plenty of smooth stopping power.

These are good all rounder brake pads. They will wear out a little quicker but that’s ok..you’ll keep your aluminum rim longer and stop better than your dried up old brake pads that have turned stale cookie hard.Make sure you set these up correctly and adjust your toe in for maximum stopping efficiency so you don’t complain on here how they are only worth a one star because they didn’t work or made weird noises.Great brake pad the money!
