I had a very old American Standard one piece unit toilet (probably 60 years plus). It was color coordinated with the sink and bathtub and American Standard didn’t make this style anymore, so naturally I wanted to fix the seat disc that was leaking. I had a screw on connection from the seat disc to the actuator. The brass insert that came with the seat disc didn’t fit the original screw on the actuator unit. It was too small. So I removed the brass insert from the original seat disc and used it in the new one. It seemed to work OK as the new one flushes and seats just fine. Just a heads up on using the disc on older toilets. Changing the whole actuator assembly was not an option as it had a brass seat and I didn’t want to take a chance of removing it and breaking the porcelain (very fragile).
