I am extremely disappointed with this purchase. I bought this Yerba mate and paid a high price point to receive a quality product. The expiration date was 1 year ago. Watch out when you buy this product.

about 30% of the volume is stems (some of which were an inch long) the flavour is bitter, smokey and unpleasant. it felt like i was drinking through a capillary rather than a straw due to all the un-uniform pieces of mate. Such an insult to call this a gourmet product... maybe there was a spelling error and they meant to say garbage mate. the remaining product will be thrown in with the compost food scraps where it might scare away some worms and insects.

what a beautiful mate, a deep green with a wonderful taste, the packaging is gorgeous too
