I am so disappointed - but not surprised. This is by far the cutest nutcracker I have added to my collection. I have been wanting to order it for years but have been deterred by all of the reviews stating that it's head is frequently broken off upon arrival. Finally this year I decided to give it a try. I have to say pictures don't do it justice! It is so cute!!! However, the one I received had his head broken off at the neck. After seeing it in person, I don't understand if this is a manufacturing defect or if Amazon received a bad batch or what. The head is heavy and apparently not adequately attached by the manufacturer. I was really sad to return it but it is too expensive to keep it and glue it. I haven't decided if I want to try ordering another one as many folks have had to order several.

I collect Kurt Adler pieces. I bought this one three years ago. It is one of my favorites. As far as the other reviews, it is true the head is too heavy and makes it susceptible to breaking. My piece arrived intact. After the first year it broke off. I was so disappointed but used gorilla glue to put it back on. You can not tell and it's been 2 more years without issue. Opinion, if the head breaks, glue back on and enjoy the piece. It's pretty awesome.

My daughter loves the design of the nutcracker. However, it arrived with a completely detached head! The box was fine so I am not sure how it was damaged. Definitely a bummer. Will try to exchange and hopefully the new one arrives intact.

I was extremely excited about this nutcracker to add to my collection. It arrived today; the craftsmanship is great, but the head of the nutcracker was severed from its body. I’m going to try and use Gorilla glue to glue the head back on, but the head is so heavy I’m not sure it will work. This was truly disappointing.
