Works for our 2007 Winnebago View. Bought the Kwikee gearbox and the cheap $32 motor a year ago. The cheap motor failed but the gearbox is going strong yet. Tried to save a few bucks but wound up buying this Kwikee motor which I should have bought the first time. Stick with the quality stuff. Saves time and money.

Every RVers worst dream..stairs won't retracted and it's time to go! Happened to us when leaving a park in Utah. You can operate the step by manually removing the motorized arm and tying the stairs up..but this is a nuisance for entering and exiting especially for a short person. Tried all the tricks to reactivate motor..none worked. Ordered this replacement motor...it arrived at our next stop and we installed it. What a relief when the stairs worked properly. An install note...reconnect the arm before fully tightening down the motor. There is a lot of tension on the arm. It won't reach the motor if it is tightened in place. This was our only issue during the replacement. Called manufacturer to confirm what we were thinking, they shared that yes..put the arm on the motor while the motor can still be adjusted in the mounting. Approximately a 30 min repair.

I ordered this motor for a replacement for my 2014 Newmar Bay Star Sport 2903. It was a perfect fit and was easy to install. I would recommend being careful when you remove the old one. You should have some clean paper towels or cloth rag below the area where you take it out, so as to not get the old gear and washer dirty by dropping it.It is good to leave it in the same position (facing up) so that when you lay it down on the clean material, the gear and washer do not fall out. There was plenty of grease on the old one, so I did not apply new grease to the gear. I understand this is a common problem with this motor, so I purchased an extra motor to be used as insurance in case this should happen again. We were on a maiden voyage when the stairs broke as we were pulling out of the driveway on our way to our destination. It was a lot of trouble to place blocks under the stairs in order to be able to use them for 10 days. I believe I used a 10mm socket to remove the 3 bolts and just had to push on a tab release the wire harness.Additionally, when the stairs first broke, I had to disconnect the arm from the motor by removing the cotter key and pin in order to have free movement to use the stairs manually. If this is the case with your installation, do not try to reattach this arm until you install the new motor. Otherwise it is almost impossible to reattach the arm to the old motor.

The product should have came with a new electrical motor connector. It's unclear when ordering a new part from a different manufacture that was originally installed if all electrical connectors are standard. There was no information telling you or a part number to order a new connector.Amazon informed me later and I had it ordered ASAP. The problem is I needed all the parts now or installed at the same time. With luck the new motor connector was the same style as my motor coach. I tried to cancel the new connector once I found out that it was not needed. I could not because it had already shipped. The motor housing and new gearbox installed with ease. It's operation and quality of the part was perfect. I gave it a 3 stars on value because it should have included a connector or better instructions. I hope it will last as long as the origional one.

My stair motor recently went out on our RV and while it was in getting serviced I asked for a quote to replace the motor. My eyes almost popped out of my head when they came back with a quote of almost $300 to replace this motor. Well the DIY in me kicked in and I immediately searched Amazon for the motor. Turns out it was WAY cheaper on here and there are literally only three bolts and a plug to undo. The entire job took me less than five minutes with the correct size (T25 I believe) torx driver. If you are capable of lying on your back and sliding partially underneath your rv then you can definitely do this yourself. The new motor works great and saved me over $200 in labor and price gouging.

Seems to be some confusion about what this review is for, pictured is the motor what I purchased and am reviewing is the control unit (black box) which controls the operation of the stairs/motor. Part arrived quickly, replacement went well, stairs now fully operational.

I have the discontinued Kodiak Sidewinder Steps on my 2003 Chevy. Neither the steps nor any parts for them are manufactured any longer ,with the exception of the motor. My stock control unit died in one of my Sidewinder steps. The step would move about 3 inches and stop. I contacted Kwikee. I was told to search the used market for a replacement since the control unit is no longer manufactured.I turned to the RV market to find a replacement control unit. I found this model on Amazon.com and bought it. The module is the same size, with the exception of the triangular bracket that is molded to this unit. It will fit into the Sidewinder step housing once you trim the triangle bracket a bit. There are still mounting holes left that allow you to mount it inside the step housing. This module also has extra wires you will not need if installing in the Sidewinder step (Step light, RV bypass switch..etc).Anyhow, the motor in the Sidewinder has the exact same connector as does the motor power wires on this unit, so that part plugged right in. Next was wiring in the switch and power. I went to Page #9. figure #11 of the RV Step instructions included with the new control unit and used that diagram:I cut the old connector from the old control unit since the one on the new unit was different. I left enough wire attached to the connector to be able to splice it to the new control unit. I cut off the 4-prong connector on the new control unit. Using the old connector, I spliced / wired it to the new control unit using brown to brown, red to red, white not used and green to ground. I plugged the old connector now wired to the new unit into the same old connector from the power. I opened the door and Bingo! I was in business. I am glad it worked and that I tried the different unit. Since no control units are being made specifically for the Sidewinder, I am glad I found a replacement. I hope this helps those looking to repair their Kodiak Sidewinder steps.
