I'm on a big union job doing work hanging pipe several stories high in a huge Warehouse facility. And the safety protocol was off the scale even for a Ua job working off a man lift 60 or ,70 feet in the air is just part of the job ! The safety harnesses and attachment points were sub par in my opinion and since I'm the one they would be either writing up or calling medical help for if an accident occurred. Since the anchor points on the machine were all sound and welded Pad eyes all I really had to account for was the safety chain set up for my personal harness to pad eyes . Since we were using torch and cutting wheels grinding wheels there was lots of fire and spark I was not too keen on having the nylon safety lanyards lying on the deck while Sparks and flames were shooting around so I quickly opted to look for safety chains that were impervious to fire. When I quit came across this set of kwikset rebar safety chains .it was exactly what I was looking for the quality on the safety chain and hooks is outstanding and a great bargain for my out-of-pocket expenses . Once clicked on to the main ring on the back of my safety harness it fit perfect and it was quite comfortable I really didn't even know it was there any longer I'm having the 29 in smaller chains I could click it on either side and I could just slide back and forth between hooks actually giving me quite a bit of adjustability as far as movement. No I'm not sure if these were designated to be used but because of the safety rating on it and the quality of the product I was more than comfortable with using them instead of the nylon safety lanyards and the OSHA officer was more thanok with my use of the rebar safety change as opposed to the nylon safety lanyard. I'm not exactly sure if this was the intended use of this but the OSHA safety officer on the site was happy with it I'm here to tell about it worked but I would definitely recommend this I guess if you were in the tree cutting business and you were concerned about damaging your safety line or with fire it's definitely an option as opposed to a nylon safety line I would definitely recommend its use.

This is a well made safety device. First, all of the safety data is printed on each device, and the chain appears to be a heavy grade quality. I would never use any safety equipment that did not have this information readily visible. The hook action is clean and easy to manipulate. Overall, I feel confident in the performance of this setup.

This KwikSafety Rebar Romeo lanyard is exactly what I was looking for. I have 12 palm trees in my yard and each one is over 30' tall. Safety is no joke when you're dangling dozens of feet up in the air—and I'm not getting any younger. This lanyard gives me peace of mind. This is a heavy-duty real deal kit.The locking hooks are engaged/disengaged easy; but only if you want them to. They clip onto my harness super easily, and they feel secure—I don't worry about them popping loose. That makes a huge difference when you're focused on not cutting your face off with the chainsaw; or not, you know, plummeting to my premature demise. The whole rig is built tough. Steel rebar chain, heat-treated twist chain—Charolette KwikSafety wasn't messing around when they made this thing. Plus, it's easy enough to take on and off my harness when I'm ready to break free. So, if you're looking for a reliable lanyard for working at height, this KwikSafety Rebar Romeo is definitely worth checking out. It keeps me safe, saves me time fumbling with clips, and is built to last. Can't ask for much more than that.

Ok, this is not simply a good tool for holding your chainsaws securely. I mean, it certainly will do that, but that is obvious. This is for much bigger and heavier things really. I was NOT expecting the size and weight of this thing. It is extremely well made, durable, and worth every penny of the price. If you are in a line of work that requires you to be up high on telephone poles or towers, etc. then this is what you want. It may actually be a bit overkill for even that. It's listed as being able to lift or hold 400 pounds but that is a drastic understatement. On the carabiner itself, it actually says up to 1300 pounds. Listen, this guy could easily lift/hold a ton. I honestly wouldn't even hesitate to pull a car with it. This is the kind of thing you would hang from a helicopter and transport stuff.!Really, when you get this in the mail, you will also be surprised. Only by holding it and seeing it yourself, can you really appreciate it for its quality, and capabilities. I would recommend this for anyone, as I said, for work, for fun, or whatever you do that would require a carabiner that you can trust. They don't get any better y'all.

A few years ago I finally invested in a safety harness. Now that I’m not a hot headed young carpenter I finally wised up. So if you want to make it to grizzled old veteran carpenter, then you should invest in safety equipment to keep you in the trade. What good is a safety harness if you don’t have good anchor points and a good system of clipping in. This setup allows you to easily clip in and out as you move. It’s a compact system so you don’t have access rope tripping you up or getting in your way. I like the heavy duty hooks and chain, and for the right situations this seems ideal. The one downside would b the weight. This is heavy duty and weighs a lot more than my rope/strap style tie ins.
