The KYB MonoMax is a heavy duty monotube shock absorber that provides the most handling, control and durability of any KYB shock; and it’s just for trucks. The MonoMax’s tough design automatically adjusts to driving conditions with fade-free performance. The KYB MonoMax has an outstanding reputation for vehicles that do real work, go off-road, tow a trailer or haul heavy loads. It uses a work-ready, zinc-coated steel piston ring and includes an off-road dust boot.

My chiropractor will love these things! They ride so hard its almost like I installed a solid chunk of steel, I hope they soften up a bit or I will have to change them out. Will report back.

My 1 ton truck is in repair and my brother in law sold his 25 year old Dodge RAM 1/2 ton with 100K miles to me. Of course it is still on OEM shocks, I bought this for the front and from RockAuto the rears - I have horses and a small field at home and 5 cows in another land 90 miles away with no water. So I have to carry water every week. I either tow or just load the water tank directly and so that's about 2100 lbs for 250 gallons. These shocks are awesome when loaded. It is a bit stiff when unloaded but not exactly bouncy. Since we are reviewing the front, I think it is not that far behind a Bilstein unloaded. I think it is a good choice for stock trucks and maybe a tad bigger tires. I do recommend to check your front end and steering as well. I did that and also changed the steering damper and that made it a bit comfortable and bounciness is minimal for a truck. There are other models or brands for off-roading or comfort but for the work truck that will be carrying stuff this is the one to get, specially if you have to traverse rough conditions.

Always been a fan of KYB shocks. Just put them on but love how they are performing so far.

I installed these on my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L,Install: other than the seized bolts on my old shocks this install took less than a half hour and came with new hardware that fit perfectly to my truck, although no directions were included for the order of the rubber bushings and I had to scour the internet for any hint of the order. Results: My truck was experiencing extreme pitch and roll before this install, hitting potholes was almost always a near death experience and windy days had me saying prayers before I got on the interstate. After 500 miles with the install I noticed a drastic difference, no more pitch and roll on turns and hard braking, uneven concrete roads were smoother, and there’s a lot more response in the steering wheel on turns. Conclusion: If you have a truck with a heavy front end like a 2nd Gen Dodge Ram these shocks are ideal and I would 100% recommended them and half the price of Bilsteins it feels like a no brainer, although I could see if you had a lighter truck these might feel overly stiff.

Bought these to stiffen up the front end of a 98 Ram 1500 for plowing. Perfect fit and has significantly reduced the bounce of the front end when plowing.

These are dangerous as they are worse at handling any bump than having no shocks at all. I would return them but I figured it out too late why I couldn't keep my truck on the road any more and it is past the time to return to amazon. Do not buy these for anything at all or any other KYB shock!
