The Gas-a-Just is available as an OE monotube replacement and as an OE twin-tube performance upgrade. The KYB Gas-a-Just has two separate working chambers: An air-free hydraulic piston and valve area for responsiveness & control, and a second high-pressure nitrogen gas area with a floating piston that provides a comfortable ride during normal driving and adds instant performance on demand.

First things first... For the correct fit you need to check KYB's website where there is a full listing to verify the type of shock, strut, or springs you need for your specific vehicle. For my needs...The KG5441 shock is listed to fit the REAR on the 1995-96 Ford F-150. The Gas-A-Just Shock is rated as being far superior to the OEM factory shocks. The KG5440 shock is recommended for the FRONT. Again, it is recommended that you check KYB's website for fit and finish if your truck is lifted or lowered. If you do a lot of off road driving, you definitely want to go with the KYB Monomax, but be forewarned they're a more stiff ride compared to the Gas-A-Just, which I feel is the better option to restore the factory ride and performance for an every day driver.FYI --- For those who are also swapping Coil Springs, keep in mind you may have to swap out your ball joints and other steering parts in the process, per what I read in the forums, it is highly recommended you get an alignment and have a professional shop double check any work done on your steering components after installing Coil Springs, even on a DIY the job.

they are pressurized shocks, the fronts arent strapped down enough to easily install, they have to be pushed down and tied down with a strong rope or wire

Hands down the best. Put these on my ford f350 and ride quality went way up. Plus they look super vintage.

These fit my Ford ranger 2010 2.3l quite well and seem quite stiff. Hopefully over the years they will save my springs on my rough 3 km driveway.

For $10 I would take a chance on this. The shock was brand new. The box had been through the war. What a deal! This is the second time I have found merchandise on closeout by Amazon. Not disappointed at all.

Installed a set of these on front of 2003 F350 4x4 and the difference in ride quality is very apparent. The original shocks were shot (surprise, surprise after 120k miles), and these new shocks made the truck feel new again. Quite happy.

Sorry can't remember, but this replaces either Monroe or Gabriel standard ride shocks. The ride quality improved by leaps and bounds, lol. The shocks sold in online stores as factory ride quality or standard ride is an over-statement. Always choose improved performance. I'm replacing the fronts with this brand as well.

For those who thought that the rear shocks didn't make much of a difference must not have had very bad rear shocks. My F150 is finally stable over rough highways and doesn't float. I wish I would have put these on the front too when I replaced those since they have no fade, and will be doing so shortly!
