This steering stabilizer bar made a night and day difference. I can have one hand on the wheel and hit a bump or pothole and the wheel doesn't jump all over the place. It was a simple install. If you're mechanically inclined and have some decent tools it shouldn't take you more than 45 minutes to install them. I didn't even lift my truck to do the install, just make sure you have a decent headlamp or lighting and you'll be fine.

Not very fun to install. The two sets of bolt, washer, lock washer, and nut combos that mount the stationary end of the stabilizer to the frame of the truck are not very fun to fasten if you have big hands. Basically doing it blind in a very small place. However, can’t really say anything bad about the kit because it’s GM’s fault. It’s the only way to mount it.KYB is quality and this kit showed that as well. Very nice product and can’t believe how nice my front end is now. Granted this was the finishing touch on what I’ve done this month. New cv axles, new urethane sway bar mount bushings, new urethane sway bar end links and bushings, new bearings, new rotors... Worth every penny!

Installing this isn’t that easy and if you have the front differential skid plate it will interfere when reinstalling. The frame bracket for the shock mounts between the skid plate and the frame so I had to add a spacer to the other side. I did not notice any difference in steer ability. I bought this to help with the steering slop on my 97 K1500 but it made no difference at all. I finally just removed the steering gear box and relashed according to the GM service manual. No more slop and goodbye stabilizer! As I was removing the steering gear box I did notice that the pitman arm to drag link ball joint was scraping the body of the stabilizer. Overall, I would not recommend this for using on a 1997 K1500.

Problematic 2 months after installing. Nice stabilization shock but it doesn't like the cold and makes a whining noise when the temps go below zero, and of course I'm just outside of the return window. I would like a refund or a replacement shock. Not impressed!!

Kit as shown in photo. Decent quality shock. Colour is white. Mounting brackets are thick and strong.

Did exactly what it was supposed to. Cleaned up sloppy steering after I replaced almost all of my front end components. Probably took about 25 minutes to install. You do have to drill a hole into the cross member, but not a big deal I knew that going into the project. All in all I'd highly recommend especially if you prefer to run larger tires.

Installed on a 2002 GMC Yukon. Was pretty straight forward, took about an hour, didn't even need to lift the truck to do it (I also misplaced the instructions and was basing the install on the picture I seen of it).Took it for a spin afterwards through some rough roads (pot holes , and poor patchwork) - barely needed to hold the steering wheel to keep it straight.Does what it's supposed to do, and surprisingly well for the price. Well worthwhile upgrade for poorly maintained roads, possibly off-roading, but I don't think it was intended for anything too extreme.

Bought as a last ditch effort to cure the dreaded "death wobble" on my Chevy Tahoe. Finally a decent driver! Slightly oversized and offset wheels and tires made this thing not fun to drive. This damper cured the issues and it drives great once again.Very easy to install, although the instructions leave a bit to be desired.Highly recommended!Do not let the pictures of they brackets make you thing they look cheap.I thought they looked light duty in the photos, but they are plenty beefy !

Installed on a 2002 Yukon Denali. It does exactly what its supposed to. I have factory wheels (17") and aging steering parts and it would wander all over the lane, requiring constant feedback. First off, this is NOT a fix for aging steering parts or bad alignments, but an aid to help guys with oversize wheels or tires get control of their vehicle again. I bought it knowing I am going to upgrade to bigger wheels and replace my worn steering parts in the future, so it is simply a bandaid for me. With that, its a pretty efficient bandaid. I only wander every now and then and it could be the ruts in the road sending me in that direction or my old steering parts. Now the two qualms about the product:1. There are two holes in one of the brackets that mounts to the frame. One is supposed to line up perfectly to an existing hole and the other requires drilling a new hole into the frame. The hole that is already there is too close to the other side of the frame and the nut would not center right and go on. So I had to drill out another hole in the frame. Not a big deal because I already had to drill out the other hole, so its not like this is a direct bolt on and go, "modification" is required. It may work for the other GM suv brothers (Tahoe, Suburban, Escalade, etc..) or different years of Denali's (GM updated the suvs in 2003 so it could work out better for them.)2. I wish it was valved a little stiffer. I like a firm steering rack and wished it required a little more input to turn, but remember this was designed for heavier wheel/tire combinations, that alone could make it more firm along with when I replace the rest of my steering parts.Anyways, I really enjoy the product, I highly recommend it to GM suv owner, I think the functionality you gain outweighs the two qualms I have about it which is why I have still given it 5 stars. Plus, you cant beat the price for the benefit you receive. I couldn't have even gotten an alignment for the cost of the product. There is no reason to buy a more expensive stabilizer, a lot of the offroad companies use the KYB and put their own color, boot, logo and charge more.

It's a great product, although it does take longer than a half hour to install, of course that's without a lift/jack/stands, and using only hand tools. lift and air tools I think 20 to 30 minutes. otherwise your looking at an hour. depending on fit... maybe an hour and a half. Put this on my 2003 Tahoe. feels much better as I am running some wide 24s" on it and they make the steering kind of sloppy at high speeds. much better now. You do have to drill one hole out but a sharp bit and it goes quick.
