These KYX tire chains are easy to install and provide excellent traction on icy roads. They are sturdy and fit well on my SUV tires. A great addition to any emergency car kit for winter travel!

These small 'chains' are not as good as the larger ones. They are more difficult to put on my car. They are not heavy duty or high quality, so I have major concerns about longevity. I do appreciate that they come in a zipper storage bag to keep safe & 'clean'. They work better than nothing, but I think they are more to keep in your trunk for 'emergencies' over regular use. Their just ok.

These are not as easy to install as described, but they are effective with only 3 per tire. I thought at first, no way on a rear wheel drive truck, are these going to work, but they do. I'm being these are a one season use, depending on highway driving at any kind of speed. They are like studded snow tires in comparison. I used them once on the pass and they worked fine, but I couldn't see them lasting thousands of miles.

These are designed for ice and snow but I haven't been able to use them on those yet. However, I got my 4x4 Jeep stuck in some slick mud while trying to move some trailers around on my property. I tried to get unstuck for more than 20 minutes while only making things worse. That's when I remembered I had ordered these for winter emergencies. I hadn't even opened the box yet but I thought it was worth a try. I was able to get 4 chain straps installed on my front wheels that were not in deep mud, and only 2 on the back two wheels because of the mud. The included tool came in handy to pull the straps through the wheel openings. It only took me about 15 minutes to get these installed, and that included reading the instructions. I hopped in and with the transfer case in 4 low, was able to pull right out of the mud hole. I only problem I had to watch out for was turning my front wheels very much to each side because of interference issues. I have over size tires and they rub slightly even without chains. So if I ever use them on road I will probably only put them on my back wheels. These really saved me from having to pay for a costly tow. Great for emergencies but I wouldn't want to go to far with them on. Definitely will be kept under the back seat for tricky spots like this.

Giving them a dry run (no snow), these appear to be quite sturdy and dependable! Hope I never have to find out . . .

This is exactly what I needed for 17 Cruze. We are expecting a big snowfall this year and these will be paramount. They are rubber and metal with straps. They also come with a carrying bag with a small profile. Great product!Grade: A

I really wanted to like this product, but it is not impressive. One significant problem is the enclosed tool. The cleats attach to my car tires by cranking a small tightening ratchet. That ratchet is operated with an enclosed tool-- a small, thin, flimsy, and easy-to-lose tool. But if I lose the tool in the snow or the tool bends out of shape, the studs are worthless. The tool is so cheap that the vendor should have included two or three of them with the set. As it is, I need to carry pliers or vise grips as a backup tool, and neither of them will fit the ratcheting gear well. These studs come in a nice nylon carrying bag. They are not really tire chains at all. I expect them to improve traction a little bit, but they will not let me power through lots of snow and ice. (But a little traction improvement is usually all my small car needs.)

Well I thought these would be a great lightweight, easy to install solution for the occasional ice and snow we get here. They come with a nice case - 6 sets - and a scraper with hook to pull the straps through.Well before buying I would suggest you get a 1 inch strap and try and wrap it around your car wheel like these do to install. My Odyssey has nice wheels but getting these around them to install was impossible with out a jack lifting the van.The top one was possible with a lot of effort and using the hook as the strap fell straight down but the other two were impossible for my particular car.Once installed I saw how close these straps and tightening mechanism are to the brake structure and decided it was not worth the risk of damaging my brakes or lines if a strap broke.Cannot recommend.
