The lights just aren’t that bright and the hands of the clock blend with the background. Looks great but not easy to see at night. Would have about the same visibility with a non lighted one. That said the clock works and looks nice during the daytime

This clock is VERY well made and heavy duty!! It does take 4 “D” batteries and 1 AA so it’s heavy!! This is not some cheap plastic clock you find at a local store, this is quality and beautiful!!!Love the automatic lights when the bathroom is dark. Beautiful clock face and love the tree design. We love this for our main bathroom. Very pretty and expensive looking!

Backlight is very nice and it has stood up to the recent heatwave in soCal of 120 deg days while taking morning sun, its still OK. The face has a tree pattern that distracts from seeing the hands at night a little, but still readable with the backlight.

Very pretty clock, but we bought it because it had the light up feature - we wanted to be able to just look up and see the time at night when in bed. Several issues with this feature:1. What we consider to be dark and what this clock considers to be dark are two different things. Our bedroom gets more than sufficient light during the day, but the clock still lights up around 3PM - it also lights up if you have the bedside lamps on. The only time it doesn't is when the overhead bedroom light is on. Due to that function, the batteries only lasted about 4 1/2 months - then it started flashing. So, unless you want to take it down in the morning, shut it off, then take it down again at night to turn it on (or just leave your bedroom light on all day), you will be going through a lot of batteries.2. The clock only lights up for 6 hours. We turn the overhead light on before we go to bed to make sure it lights up for the full 6 hours, but we do sleep longer than 6 hours and it is dark longer than 6 hours.It would be much better if you could set it to light up at a specific time and go off at a specific time.We will be putting this clock in our living room and just not use the 4 D batteries and leave the light up feature off. It is still a pretty clock, but not worth what we paid for it since we can't really use it for what we wanted.

Use this outside so I can see it from my hot tub. It is bright and easy to see at night. Keeps time perfectly. Held up through upstate NY winter. Very happy with this clock.
