I have a Lacrosse weather station that is 10+years old and it has been very accurate with the temperature readings. This new one I bought because it was a sale price and I wanted to have one in my computer room. The monitor is just fine in its readout screen and I put the sensor outside next to the original sensor. After two days of monitoring the two, I have a 2-3 degree difference with them and the new one is the higher of the two in its reading. So which one do I believe ?

I was so excited to get this from the Amazon Warehouse, where I have gotten some great deals. This time it didn't work out for me. When I found out that the sensors didn't remain connected to the base unit; I contacted the LaCrosse customer support, they told me that they no longer had sensors that would work with this unit. I asked again for clarification and again they told me that they had no idea if they would ever get sensors that would work with this base unit. It was such a great disappointment because the design and appearance of the base unit was excellent. I am happy that they processed my return promptly which allowed me to purchase a multi sensor unit from another company.

I purchased used back in 2021. It was easy to read for us where we placed on the wall. The sensor went outside on the front deck. Unfortunately the sun in the morning gave inaccurate readings, but I believe if we put it somewhere else, it would have been better. A few days ago (Aug 2023) the sensor started giving funky readings. It accurately read the temp in the fridge, but afterwards it said 114 F then stopped working. For the price, it has been very useful for us. It's lasted a few years. The sensor it uses costs more than the device, so I am considering a new one. I never really paid attention to the clock, but initially it was easy to set. Battery backup is nice too. The screen has been lit all the time except during power outages and is still easy to see. It does have to be set at the right angle though. Please notice, the sensor is not waterproof. Most weather station sensors seem to be this way.

I should have read the description betterI should have read all the reviews - better research ! I guess I was in too much of a hurry to get one cause my old weather station suddenly died but I would have picked a better one.My Complaints:#1 TOO SMALL - it's tiny - if you stand more than 4 feet away I can't read it!#2 I didn't know it needed to be plugged into a 120 AC household current? I thought it would only work on batteries? It does work on batteries only but DOESN'T light up on batteries unless you walk up to it and hold on the light button - when it's NOT lighted up on batteries it's almost impossible to see! I admit it's my fault for not knowing that before I bought it !#3 It only comes with a USB cable , no plug outlet - you will need to buy that extra !#4 when you use it as a desk stand the angle is too tilted that even makes it harder to see on an angle.#5 The only way to see it is hang it on a wall at eye level, plug it in to an outlet and stand 2 feet away from it.#6 The instructions are horrible! A 3rd grader could write better instructions

There are too many options when looking at weather stations! I had one made by Frigidaire that died after about 4 years. It showed me the time, the temp outside and inside, and a rain forecast. It had bright white numbers on a mirror background, and was easily seen from any angle and from 25 feet away (it was hung on a wall near the main door). The forecast was never right (always thought it was raining), the temp was always a little off, and time would occasionally change itself. But it was helpful. As it got older, the time would change itself daily and then one day no lights would come on. Once you have one these, you just can't live without it. They very convenient, even over looking at your phone. So in pursuit of a replacement, I did my homework, bought several different models and brands, and this one is the winner for me. The clock is largest part, the numbers are bright white, and it can be seen from any angle and from 25 feet away. Most of the others could only be seen by looking directly at them, no angles. This one also has a humidity gauge and a calendar (although both can only be read within 10 feet), which the Frigidaire did not have. It also seems to be more accurate than the dead one.And its BEST feature is the buttons to make changes are on the sides! The dead one and almost all the others I tried had the buttons on the back, which when hanging on a wall makes it a hassle to make changes. There was really expensive weather station (like 100 dollars) I considered but did not try out. That one may be better functionally, but considering these seem to die sooner rather than later, this one is the better value.
