1. The tolerance ring does not fit the bearing. it must be bent to fit the recess of the bearing shell. If it comes out of place during installation, which this can easily do, it will jam the bearing and prevent complete installation. could break the transom, $$$$$$$$$ .2. this is a greasable bearing which means water can intrude thru the grease port or grease can escape the bearing thru the same port. It is NOT a sealed bearing!!!3. The newer Mercruiser drives have a bigger heavy duty U-joint assembly which requires a little more room for clearance, to get this Mercruiser shaved off the bearing on one side. this allowed the drive to be installed without wedging the u-joint again the bearing causing a knocking when running and turning. Please observe your picture, It clearly shows the correct bearing but this is not what you supplied. what you sent was the old style 30-60794a4, or 18-2100 NOT the 18-21006!!!

I bought this Chinese bearing to save about 30.00 dollars, the outer diameter is to big for a bravo transom assembly. When I installed it with the correct tool, it cracked (broke) my transom assembly costing me 3500.00 dollars!
