I was hope full the "Ladder's Little Helper" would protect the gutter from crushing. It does not.I placed it over one of the support brackets, placed my ladder and climbed up. The support bracket bent, and the gutter crushed in. After straightening everything, I placed a section of 2x4 in the gutter behind the Helper. That did the trick.The helper does protect the face of the gutter from ladder damage. Also provides some stabilization of the ladder against the ladder. I would probably return it, but Helper has marks from the ladder.I will continue to use, but will be adding the 2x4 support in the gutter.

I purchased this for my husband to clean the eavestroughs around our home. The company is smart, I saw comments that there needed to be a CUTOUT IN THE CENTER to allow for the eaves strapping. When ours came the unit did have a cut out to allow for this, we were prepared to do the cutout ourselves. My husband wasn't sure how this would work, but it worked beautifully. I almost wanted to purchase another one so we would not be without. So lightweight and simply compared to clunkier options and the non-stick rubber makes it very safe. So, I had my doubts just how well this might work when I bought it. Normally, cleaning the gutters on the second story has always been nerve wrecking. But it makes sense this works, it's just a bit of rubber that increases friction to keep the ladder in place.That being said, you'll want a long pole of some kind depending how high up you need to go. The hole you're supposed to use is a little on the small side.I have a 1 for value for money, because it's $40 for some plastic and rubber. It would be a much better value if it were like $20. When the box came I honestly thought they shipped an empty box. If this was metal than $40 would be worth it in terms of value.Still recommend though.

Note, wait for sale cause it is over priced but works exactly as designed and saves me from destroying the gutters on my house each time I need to get on roof. BUY.
