These worked well to diagnose a problem we were having with copper in our pool. I had no problem reading the results.

I have marginal water quality in my coastal North Carolina beach home, and I use these to make sure that my water treatment equipment is doing the job. They are easy to use, give accurate results and are way less expensive than using an outside lab.All you need to do is dip one of the test strips in a water sample and wait. You compare the color on the test strip to the scale that comes with the product and you have a good sense of how much iron/copper is in your water. This part couldn't be easier. As a way to ensure I'm not missing anything, I use several different testing methods cross-checked against one another, and we send samples out to the local lab twice a year. In addition to the LaMotte test strips, I also use a test kit from Hach (good for iron - better for total harness testing), a TDS meter and a variety of low-cost water quality tests. For iron levels (my big concern), the LaMotte seems to be about the closest to the values I get from the lab.About my only complaint is that it's not quite granular enough when you have very slight trace levels present. After treatment, our water typically still has 0.1 PPM iron, which you can't really detect with the test strip. You can tell it's not zero, and you can tell it's not over 1 PPM - but you really can't tell exactly what the value is at low concentrations.Definitely a good choice if you're worried about iron or copper in your water.

Living on Big Island Hawaii I could not find any of these strips any where. Glad to have them sent to me quickly. And makes it easy to test for copper. Now I have treated pool and all is in balance.

I have problems with some of my pool chemical readings. I wanted to know if the problem I have been having is related to high levels of either Copper or Iron in my water. The strips were easy to use and were able to prove to me that I am not having high levels of these metals in my pool water.
