I recently took this AI translator on an international trip, and it exceeded my expectations! I bought this because where we travel we often find ourselves in need of translation. Sometimes it's taking a picture to translate, which your phone can do but this device does it without WIFI, its all built in! It also translates speech offline (select number of languages) and this is well worth the investment.It is like a universal translator (almost) which was considered science fiction so long ago and now all that power in one hand.

Really helpful for traveling. Long battery life and easy to use. It’s smaller than I expected and easy to carry with you. I bought it for my parents and my dad is obsessed with it and is translating everything!

This translator is amazing! I love that it works without wifi, making it super convenient for traveling or using on the go. The real-time translations are fast and highly accurate, and even though I'm mainly using it for two languages at the moment, the ability to translate over 139 languages is incredible. I also found the offline photo translation feature really useful, especially when reading menus and signs. It’s compact, easy to use, and has been a game changer for communication. I got this one for my dad and it has been working great. The camera translator is a life saver and it also has several off line options when he doesn’t have WiFi.

This review is for the non-4G model. We always travel with e-sims and generally *can* use our phones for translation often. However we don't always have unlimited data, connections may be slow, we might be on a boat and not want to take our expensive phone out of a wet bag-there are plenty of good reasons to have a stand alone device. This one has 18 offline languages including several we really need, like Thai, Indonesian, Spanish and Arabic. We can translate short sentences/basic conversations back and forth easily without any wi-fi or cell service needed. It's a total game changer whether simply trying to order food with a certain spice level or needing to translate a medical need. It is user friendly and intuitive to figure out without having to study a manual. It does have many more features and support tons of languages when connected to wi-fi, which would be more difficult to maintain consistency while traveling, but would still be helpful.
