It's a complicated device, so there is a learning curve. Thinking twice I would have chosen another one. This has the capacity to perform many different calculations, so for those measuring length may be overwhelmed. It is rechargeable so there is a value and appears to be built with quality. The item can be a bit challenging to see in bright sunlight but functions pretty much well.

I needed to measure garages with a new position I took…this little toy worked just fine. If you have an unsteady hand at all or even a bigger or fat hand, this could be a difficult buy, but only because it’s small and getting comfortable with trying to get into smaller areas to measure it can be tough to hit the button correctly. But that was just my experience. If you need a quality little measurement tool that is used for smaller projects and just to have one “just in case” this is perfect! If you need to do a project with more up to exact measurements, get a more expensive one…but for garages and square footage measurements, snag this one!

Purchased two similar units. Wouldn't be surprised if they both came from the same factory. Both work equally as well. Definitely recommend.Love that it's rechargeable. Not that my old range finder's battery depleted quickly.(Going to copy this review for the other unit.)Update. One star removed.This beam isn't powerful enough to be seen in daylight over a distance of less than 25m. The unit was positioned in a shadow and the laser directed at another area which was in darker shadow. The spot could not be seen. Minus one star for this. In the dark there's no issue. The light can be easilty seen over a further distance.My previous unit was a Bosch. I rarely ever encountered this.Another thing to consider when purchasing such a compact device is stability. I thought that being small it would have been easier to point an click. However being small when I click the device shifts. That's on me. I just need to hold it tighter, kinda difficult to do with such a neat unit.If the button was positioned closer to the top or center then it would have been a bit more stable. An improved design either have been to switch the positions of the buttons and screen. That'll give one's hand more of the device to hold (better grip).

Surprisingly accurate. I bought this as I would like to install blinds in our house. Made my life easy to measure all of them. You can change settings to inches, feet to meters.
