Seat is comfortable but does not fit on Simplicity Broadmoor. I had to drill 2 extra holes in the base plate in order to fasten the seat to the mower.

Had to modify a little, the threaded inserts are very easy to be pushed out of place. Be very careful not to put to much pressure on them, for they will fall out of place. Over all a great value, and comfort. Would buy from again if needed. I placed this seat on a Gravely ZT HD mower, holes lined up just fine. Great buy for the money. Thanks for the fast shipping.

This is a great lawn mower replacement seat. It is beefy, not wimpy, it should last a long time. The original one greatly needed to be replaced. I was excited to find this one at a fairly reasonable price. It fit great on my Simplicity lawn mower.

I've had this Craftsman 42" DYS 4500 Mower since 2007. This was the second time that I need to replace the seat. The first-time replacement was an OEM seat. Same as the original. This time around I could not find the OEM again, so I rolled the dice and bought this one. With the first attempt, I used the provided threaded inserts, drilled 2 holes and put in between some table end rubber so that the front of the seat was just about level. Well after using the mower a few times to haul some winter branches and other debris to the back 40, the rubber ends (with one end drilled down the middle) were cracking and ready to fall apart. Also, as others have noted here, the threaded inserts are a weak point and the front two had been pushed inward and away from the hard plastic surface. I had to remove the pressure switch and fish them out with a long-handled magnet.Back to the drawing board ...I found and bought from McMaster-Carr online, a bag of 10 Steel, 3/8"-16 Thread, 0.438" Diameter x 5/8" High Barrel Screw-Mount Nuts (see picture). I am sure they are available elsewhere too. I've also posted a comparison of the old screw mount that is installed from the inside versus the new screw mount which I installed from the outside.I drilled the 4 holes in the seat as shown with a 7/16" bit. I've posted a close up of the first one inserted. Before I had inserted it, I applied some Gorilla glue then I used the three (3) small screws to make sure it was not going anywhere! For the next step, I replaced the table end rubber stops with a more reliable (I hope) idea to provide separation and the necessary seat tilt was to use some heavy-duty rubber skid pads that I purchased from Home Depot. I bought 4 of them. Since the middle of the rubber skid pads did not have a 7/16" inch hold, and the metal was a real bugger to drill (I was using Cobalt bits), I decided to use a sharp knife and cut a half circle on the backside in order to extract what looks like a thin washer. They most likely are stainless metal. I then used some Gorilla glue to fill in the area that I had cut which will give it some strength back since these are most likely the next potential weak spot in the overall design.I then used washers on both sides of the under-seat mount, then put each 2" long 7/16" bolt through four (4) hard rubber pads for the front and two (2) hard rubber pads for the back of the seat (to level it).The final assembly is shown from the underside of the seat and a side view too. So far, I’ve used the mower three times and it seems to be holding together! This seat is by far the most comfortable seat that I have had on the mower! I sure love the extra back support besides having extra cushion too. Since we have some rough spots on the property (lots of moles) and hills too, this will help in a big way!!!

My original Kubota seat was unusable and a replacement from a bona-fide Kubota parts dealer was over $250 tax included. The bolt pattern provided in the ad indicated my 7 1/2" width would work but not the 5 1/2" depth (front to back). I first tried the 4 1/2" depth and drilled a pilot hold to verify alignment. There was not enough material in the bracket to guarantee a secure mounting at the 4 1/2" depth so I carefully measured the 8" depth using masking tape as a guide (see photo) and carefully drilled two 3/8" holes for the 8" mount. It fit perfectly. I used 5/16 18x3/4" length grade 8 bolts and washers to fasten the seat and added a bit of blue Locktite rather than over-torquing the bolts and stripping the threaded insets. Installation required a little over an hour but I am pleased with the comfort and quality of the seat and look forward to getting my tractor working again. It is slightly wider than the original but I have unfettered access to the seat belt.

I bought this seat for my 16yo Husqvarna YTH1542XP tractor. The seat is better quality than the original. The black color also looks better than stock. The seat base is plastic (as opposed to the stock seat, which is steel). It has holes drilled into it with (like) Nutserts; threaded metal inserts. They are 5/16"-18tpiThe Husqy seat has two bolts in the center for attachment so of course, none matched up.What I did was cut the bottom of the stock seat off. It's steel. I cut it with a grinder. A nasty job, but it got done. Mark it out with painters' tape and go to work. Do it outdoors.Next, I made a template of the bolt holes on the new seat. I used a paper bag. I taped the template onto the seat plate and drilled four holes. Done. Bolt the old steep plate to the new seat. Bolt the old steel plate/new seat to the machine. Done!

Needed to replace the original seat on a 2004 Simplicity Broadmoor and didn't want to shell out $200 for the OEM replacement. Thought I would take a chance on this one based on the reviews and I'm glad that I did.Only two of the mounting holes lined up, so I needed to drill two new holes in the mounting plate of the mower. I also needed to drill two small holes in the bottom of the seat to match and mount the original safety switch.Total time to install the new seat with the modifications was around an hour, but I take my time. The seat back is a bit higher than the original and the seat is also a bit wider...both good things in my world. Looks great and is comfortable. Well worth the money even with the need to modify it a bit.The seller shipped quickly and delivered exactly what was described. Five stars for this purchase!
