They do work but does not hold my rod as high as I would like ... The prongs that go into the ground are super strong ... The holder part is plastic but I have not had a issue with it coming apart. A 8 lbs cat didnt pull it out of the ground!

Gone are the days of looking for the perfect stick to prop your pole against when bank fishing. Gone are the flimsy rod holders you buy at the last minute when you're picking up bait. These are stout and get the job done, simple as that. The in-ground pieces are sturdy enough I do not worry about them bending if I have to give it a little extra oomph to get it set into the ground properly, and since the top piece rotates, it doesn't matter if the bottom twists a bit while getting pushed into the ground. If I could change one thing, I'd like some sort of textured knob on the screw that adjusts vertical angle. If your hands are grimy from attaching some gross bait that the catfish will eat, or even just wet, it would be tough to adjust. I'm 3d printing an attachment for that. The ONLY downside is the legs may be just a hair too short if you're going to be in really soft ground like a sandbar. If you anchor it really deep you won't be able to take advantage of the rod angle adjustment.

After seeing these rod holder on various pages, I decided to finally give them a try. I liked their lightweight design and they looked to be much more practical than the rebar rod holders I carry around. These rod holders are very well made. They are lightweight so you can carry them in and out of your fishing hole with ease. Despite the lightweight design, they are sturdy enough to hold your rod and will ensure it stays in place as you wait for a bite. I used these holders with my 7 foot rods and they worked great. I have no doubt they can hold longer rods if need be.The rod holder's head is highly versatile as you can adjust the angle to which your rod sits and the holder can easily be turned. I like my rods to sit higher in the air so I adjusted the screw to its highest setting. The drill rod on these particular rod holders is much thicker and sharper than those you see on other similar products. This allows you to easily stake them into the ground wherever you may be. I appreciate the protective covering over the bottom of the drill rod as they are particularly sharp.I will admit, I was a bit skeptical when first looking into these rod holders, but I am a huge fan of them now. They are lightweight and easy to carry yet durable and sturdy. I prefer these rod holders over my heavy rebar ones and will gladly take these over making a handmade rod holder from branches off the bank!
