I required the M3 knurled "thumb" screws to mount my new hard drives for my new Raid setup in my repurposed Thermaltake Tsunami Dream full height cabinet. The "thumb" screws were as described and worked well for my purpose.The pic attached is of the hard drives mounted in the Thermaltake's h/d enclosure. the bottom two drives are mounted using these knurled "thumb" screws, the top two drives are using the Thermaltake's thumb screws.

I use these M3 6mm screws on all my VESA mounts where i need to be able to remove the screen completely for travel. 6mm isn't too deep to damage the screen but long enough to go through the plate and into the threaded hole in the monitor.
