I bought 2 of these for custom builds. It has separate plates for the gearhousing and motor mount. The gear housing plate is nice cnc cut aluminum and has no issues. The motor mount plate is die cut (stamped) aluminum and unfortunately is warped not flat. Both transmissions have the same warped plate due to the manufacturing process. The motor plate is unusable because the gears can't mesh properly due to the warpage. You can "make it work" as is, but it will noisily eat pinions/spurs/internals.I have a parts stash to pull from, so it was a simple swap to a single cnc gear/motor plate with some alloy spacers for pinion alignment. Works great now.If you don't have a plate to swap in, the overall cost goes up significantly. In that case, I would opt for a Hot Racing SCP38ST05 with hardened internal gears. I have those also and they have been trouble free.

For now I'm gonna give it a 5 out of 5 it's nice clean cut craftsmanship is there doesn't seem like cheap china crap I'm pretty rough on my rcs so we'll see how she holds up to a month of bashing but my current opinion is that it's worth it

Steel 32 pitch spur and pinion, All steel 48 pitch gears inside . Perfect fit in Wraith and soooooo smooth.
