Well made leather grab strap. Handy for beginner riders. We snap a carabiner onto them and run the reins through that after tacking up to keep the reins from hanging down.

Feels like very nice and good quality leather grab-strap. Not stiff, but strong enough to feel secure should you have the need to grab the strap. For me, I bought this should I need it in an emergency because I do a lot of trail riding/hunter jumper/cross country in my AP English saddle, and I have learned to "expect the unexpected" lol; but I would expect it to hold up well should you use it a lot. Would recommend!

The leather is a bit stiff, but this will be fine for my confidence. I don't use it, I just like knowing it is there if I need it. It helps!
