This is definitely a genuine leather journal cover. It's nice in the regard that you can use it over and over again and put different journals and as you use them up. I'm using it as a note-taking journal holder so I keep it on my kitchen counter when I want to jot down ideas that pop up, I jot them down in this journal. It's slim enough that it can fit easily into any large purse or briefcase. The quality of the leather is not that great. It's a very rough thick leather which will provide good protection for your journals, but it doesn't have a high quality vibe or feel. Might be a little on the high end for the price point since I have other ones that were in this price range that were much better quality leather with nicer tighter stitching and Superior coloring of the leather. I would give this between 3 and 4 stars so I'm giving it a generous 4 since this type of rough thick rigid leather might appeal to some.

This is a beautiful cover. I’m really happy with this. The loop fits a chunky fountain pen. The only downside is that there isn’t closure on it. The leather is silky smooth and feels so luxurious. I have a Midori A5 notebook in it and it fits perfectly. Can’t say enough how much I love this cover. It’s well made, sturdy and adds classic style to my notebook.

The cover works well with my Moleskine notebook(s). There's even a cut-out for the band that keeps the notebook closed. Plus it adds a fair bit more that otherwise isn't included with a stock notebook. This includes a loop for your pen plus additional pockets (large and small). The leather is nice and supple though I think its Chrome (not veg) tanned. This isn't an issue for me as I like the look of worn leather but, I've read, that it tends to wear more. The benefit is that it feel relatively water proof.

Nice cover. The leather is decent and this is a great price for what you get. This seems water-resistant, but I think it's because the leather is either HEAVILY treated or that it's not of high quality leather. Its not thick, but it's somehow very sturdyThis is large enough to house an A5 paper cahiers notebook. It doesn't have any noxious smells to it, nor does it smell like leather.I like this, but I state all of the above to manage your expectations. This is good for the price

The leather cover is stiff and has a noticeable factory smell, but not terrible. I don't know who would want such a stiff cover. It is a solid black with no visual defects. It does appear to be leather, as best as I can tell.

I keep several journals and I looked to this cover for use with one of them that I use frequently. I was attracted by the fact that it's genuine leather. It's a nice cover but it falls short. This is a very definitely a genuine leather cover. It has the look and feel, but more importantly it has the distinct smell of genuine leather. It is thick and will provide excellent protection to any journal put in it.That said, this cover doesn't work well with hardcover journals. This is supposed to be an A5 cover, and I tried to put an A5 hardcover journal in it. The hardcover flaps went all the way into the journal cover and I could feel that there was no additional room, and the journal would not close. I tried to gently force it closed, and this caused the binding on the journal itself to start splitting and when I let go the journal popped back open anyway. This cover might work better with a softcover journal but that's not going to help me as most of my journals are hardcover. To say I am disappointed is probably understating my feelings about this cover. It's very well made but it just doesn't fit correctly - it's slightly smaller than it's supposed to be and as a result a journal in it might not even close. Hopefully I just got one that slipped past quality control, but based on my experience I would steer clear.

This leather notebook cover came nicely packaged. It was presented wrapped with with logoed paper and in a cellophane bag.I was immediately pleased with its good looks, and when I opened it up, it's functionality. There are slots for credit cards, a tuck away that would be good for receipts, a pen holder, and of course slots to hold the notebook. It's stiff so my only wish would be that it were a bit softer. I still give it five stars worth five star quality.

This leather cover is thick and looks great. The leather is hard, which makes it durable and a good cover for my A5 journal or planner. But the hardness also suggests it's not a high end leather. It's not the type that gets creamy and buttery with age. It's not soft or supple. Rather, it's stiff and actually firm enough to write on. I can use it as a writing pad. It lays down flat, but can also maintain a foldover position. In addition to the slots that hold a journal cover, it has pockets for credit or business cards, papers and a pen holder. The stitching is even. I like carrying the cover as a clutch itself or sticking it into my bag.
