I need a heat/flame resistant apron for studio work using hot materials in a kiln and with a torch, not for heavy duty welding or anything like that. Didn't want to spend a ton of money. The reviews on this were spot on. The apron itself, the leather, is fine. Decent thickness for the protection that I need, but light and soft enough to be comfortable. It's surprisingly well made. But I was prepared for the cheap grosgrain straps, so I had picked up a roll of woven cotton strapping for under $2 (on sale) at a craft store, and replaced the neck strap using D-rings I already had just for convenience, and the waist ties with longer ones. Took me about half an hour. Now I have a really nice leather apron with sturdy AND comfortable fully adjustable neck strap, and waist ties that are long enough to wrap around and tie in front! (BTW for you doubters, I have a cheap sewing machine and used a regular needle, nothing special needed to do this!)

This apron works just fine even though I had to replace the tie strings it worked good for about a month then the stitching across the stomach came loose not happy

I do a lot of grinding and wire wheeling this apron is tough. If there is a short coming for this apron it’s the neck strap very uncomfortable. The tie is made of same cheap material. All in all a good apron but could be better.

Of excellent quality the only complaint is the apron strings are way too short even for a small person I had my wife to purchase a roll of ribbon same as factory used and added so I could wrap around and tie in front I am 78 years old and its difficult for me to tie from behind. The rawhide is very soft and supple and really should last for many many years an excellent purchase.
