These are very comfortable knee guards. The cut-out in the back prevents them from pinching skin.The protection is pretty thin and flexible. That means comfort, but I've not gone down in these so I don't know the level of protection they provide.I wasn't looking for downhill level protection, but I do want enough to protect me in a slide. I think they'll provide that.I will say putting the rubber pads back in is a bit fiddly because they're so thin. No big deal though.
