I’ve seen plastic lemon squeezers that look exactly like this, but they have nothing over metal. When I removed the juicer from the box, I was struck by how heavy and solid it feels. The finish is high gloss silver that immediately gives the impression of quality. I had no lemons, but some navel oranges filled in. I cut the smaller ones in half, but a couple larger ones I had to cut into fourths. Either way, the juicer made quick work of them. Just feed the pieces into the slot making sure the small seed/pulp filter is at the bottom and squeeze the handles together. I thought it would take some muscle to accomplish this because a couple of the oranges were very firm with thick skins. I had to exert only the minimum of force and all the juice was extracted easily. Whoever came up with this design knew what they were doing because it is very efficient! The only issues I had was if the piece of orange was larger, it might push out over the top and not get juiced. Just turn it upside down and juice it again. Also, juice sometimes squirts out so squeeze slow and have a large bowl around to catch it. I wouldn’t want to juice a lot of fruit with this device, but for the average person who needs lemon in their tea or a small glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, it will do the trick while taking up very little room in the utensil drawer since it folds flat. Actually, it looks so nice, you might want to leave it out.
