I recently purchased a refurbished Lenovo desktop computer. The technician in the computer repair shop also sold me a no-name aftermarket cable to convert the VGA (Video Graphics Array) output from my monitor to Lenovo's DisplayPort (Lenovo had three DisplayPorts and no HDMI ports). The no-name aftermarket cable worked fine for a single monitor. However, I wanted to hook up a second monitor, so I ordered this Lenovo cable. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, the new Lenovo cable and the aftermarket cable were incompatible with each other, so the monitor with the aftermarket cable would not want to work at all, while the monitor with the Lenovo cable kept on flickering. I figured, that the least expensive fix to try is to purchase a second Lenovo cable and install it. Once I replaced the aftermarket cable with a second Lenovo cable, both monitors worked great! Moral of the story: do not purchase a no-name aftermarket VGA to DisplayPort cable to use with a Lenovo computer. Purchase only genuine Lenovo cables and you will not have any headaches connecting your monitors to Lenovo computer's DisplayPorts.

Tengo un ordenador Lenovo m58p, y no llegaba a encenderse con un cable displayport genérico marca "la pava" (no salía ni la pantalla de la BIOS).Probé a actualizar BIOS, etc pero nada de nada, el problema persistía. Tenia que desconectar el cable displayport y volver a conectarlo cada vez que encendia el ordenador para arrancar el sistema operativo.Con el cable de Lenovo ahora el equipo arranca bien y todo funciona correctamente y a la primera.

Es wird sofort der weitere Ausgang erkannt. Keine weitere Softwareinstallation notwendig.Der Display Port Adapter wird mit X200, X200 Tablet und deren Dockingstations verwendet.Ebenfalls wird ein VGA-Swicht bei zwei Geräten verwendet.Keine Problem oder Abbrüche. Funktioniert wie es soll.

Docking stations are expensive and don't always work with the different model of laptops. I got this DisplayPort to VGA adapter as a way of hooking up two external monitors as separate views. The DisplayPort and VGA ports both work at the same time for my Lenovo W510 laptop (laptop display won't work when using two external monitors). After about a month of using the adapter, it is working great, I don't notice any lag/refresh problems. And delivery/price was pretty good too.
