I needed high rings to keep the 56 mm objective lens on my scope from touching my barrel and these filled the bill. They are so precisely machined no bedding was required.

Second set of these, VERY unhappy. Opened em up, dropped em on my 700 LA, on the steel leupold bases snugged the rear one on, put the front one on, went to snug it on, soon as i felt tension inheard a POP and the foot broke in half. It looks like MIM or cheap cast pot metal inside!Returning these and getting badger rings. Im done with leupold!!!

I don’t do reviews but I have broke 5 different brands and one being leupold, vortex, warn and other name brand. Even broke a set of warn steel rings. I don’t care what your little guy with pretty hunting boots on that have never had dirt on them says about the amount of torque that should be on them. I put 32 lbs on my scope and 42 lb of torque on the base. Is this to much maybe so but its my crap myChoice I don’t want it moving. Having said that it limits me to only a couple rings. Burris steel rings are good but these mark 4 rings are by far the best on the market. If you can’t afford them don’t buy any and get these when you save up the money. Built like a tank.

The Mk4 rings have 3 height options. Medium, High, and Super High. It is very frustrating that Leupold does not give the height in MM or Inch.-If you have a Springfield M1A with ANY of the 22 inch barrels, the Springfield 4th gen aluminum Scope mount adapter, and a scope with a 56mm lens (in my case a Mark 5HD™ 5-25x56mm), you want the HIGH Ring option.-- The HIGH rings raise the 56mm lens just enough so you can use the Iron sights with the 4th gen adapter still attached. So when you look thru the Springfield peep sight, at the front sight post, you can barely see the bottom of the scope in your periphery. This means it does not impact your field of view.-- BUT, you COULD use the MEDIUM rings. While they do raise the scope above the front sight, the bottom of the scope will obstruct your ability to see the periphery above it. Think the equivalent of aiming at something very close but your scope is at max magnification, or an extremely small sight aperture on a moving target.-- As for the SUPER HIGH rings, you could use them. They definitely raise the scope clear of the Iron Sight field of view. But extra height is never desirable. For new shooters, think about mounting a scope 12 inches above your barrel. If you sight it in at 25ft, your barrel needs to be tilted up to meet the reticle. So when you aim for something at 50ft, your bullet would pass WELL above, over the target.-- Another note on scope height. Your scope is always exposed, higher rings equals more exposure. No matter how careful you are, you will bump it into something.

One of the biggest problems with 30mm rings is all the manufacturer's only sell them in Medium to extra high sizes. This is fine if you're a sniper with specialized scopes and stocks to get your head high enough for the too-high line of sight, but for the 99% rest of us they don't work well with hunting rigs - which are generally setup for 1" rings and medium to low mounts. So when you switch to a high quality long range scope the rings typically move your head way above the comb on the stock, which makes for very poor gun fit. When I got my 30mm 4x14 scope I looked for the lowest mounts I could find - Leupold QRW low height. These were nice and low, but still a bit higher than I would like for a good cheek weld. However, for hunting they absolutely sucked. the levers constantly hang up on clothing. I use a safari sling which has the gun held level at slightly above waist height. The levers were constantly hanging up on my wool coat. So I started looking again through the manufacturer's dimensions for a low mount 30mm. Leupold's Mark 4's were the lowest I could find - and as I recall the same height as the QRW's I had. Put them on, and they were very close if not the same. Excellent rings, good quality and held the scope under the very high recoil impulse of my elk rifle. And best of all the nuts don't cause a problem hanging up on clothing. Also pretty good price compared to some of the ridiculous prices of other - Badger Ordinance, etc.
