Polycarbonate sheet combines high impact and temperature resistance with optical clarity and can be utilized for secondary glazing behind existing glazing for economical protection against breakage or intrusion. Polycarbonate sheet can be cut, sawn, drilled and milled by using standard workshop equipment without the risk of cracking and breakage and is therefore an excellent candidate for fabricating a wide range of indoor applications such as machine guards etc. Polycarbonate sheet can be easily thermoformed into complex parts while retaining its excellent properties necessary for demanding applications such as vandal proof street furniture. Polycarbonate sheet may be decorated using a wide variety of modern techniques such as painting and screen printing.

Unlike most thermoplastics, polycarbonate can undergo large plastic deformations without cracking or breaking. As a result, it can be processed and formed at room temperature using sheet metal techniques, such as forming bends on a brake. Even for sharp angle bends with a tight radius, no heating is generally necessary. This makes it valuable in prototyping applications where transparent or electrically non-conductive parts are needed, which cannot be made from sheet metal

Light transmission
Transparent Polycarbonate sheet have excellent light transmission, dependent of thickness between 84 - 87%.

Fire performance
Polycarbonate sheet has good fire behavior characteristics. Lexan sheet does not contribute significantly to the spread of fire or to the generation of toxic gases. For details please contact your local sales office.

I've used 1/16th thick Lexan for solar flat plate collectors before with good results. I tried this 1/32 material for replacement lenses for my 10 yr old badly hazed lenses on solar spot lights. The 1/32 polycarbonate is easily cut with scissors without cracks or crazing and is tough enough for the job. This product is nice quality with protective film on both sides, scratchless and clear as can be.

As you can see from the picture it is much more transparent than I needed to replace a broken light cover on my kitchen vent hood. I just scored it a few times with a razor blade and it snapped more than clean enough for this use. Now my exhaust fan will work as it should instead of blowing half of the air back into the kitchen

This lexan worked perfectly for my application. It was exactly as described, size and thickness. I would suggest this product to anyone who is wanting to stiffen up weak areas on an RC body.

What I got wasn’t polycarbonate. Normally I used polycarbonate to vacuum form. The sheet I got ruffled when starting the process.

I used it for making a rain shield for my handlebars on my electric bike so that my gloves don't get soaked in the rain. I already have a Veltop Classic + Windshield with cover for my electric bike but it didn't prevent my gloves and hands from getting soaked when riding. This addition has worked out great.

Great for projects! Perfect for my application I was able to cut this with regular scissors.

After using cheaper material, when I was creating stencils, I learned about polycarbonate. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. The sheets are covered with an adhesive layer, that peels off. The material is clear, and it seems more durable, and less prone to chipping and/or cracking than the “plastics” I’d used previously. This cost a bit more, but it’s worth it.I did some basic research online, to be sure I was prepared, and was using the right tools. Once I had those tools, and had prepped the material, it was easy to complete my job. I’ll definitely use it again, when I have a similar need for the material.

Used this to make templates to work with slab clay for form building and it was a fantasic material choice! I can't wait to order more for another project. Advice to beginners with this material: 1) you can cut this with a jig saw, band saw or Table saw 2) if using a table saw USE A ZERO CLEARANCE PLATE. I didn't and it scared me to death every time the blade grabbed the sheet. It makes a very loud popping sound. I also clamped a board to my saw fence; the sheet I bought was thin enough to want to wander under it 3) Take it slow but deliberate cuts otherwise it leaves a weird edge at the kerf.It was a great purchase and interesting material to work with. Arrived perfectly square but just a hair under 12" x 12". I imagine it was probably just due to blade kerf at the time they broke the larger sheet down to sell the 12" square sheets. Material is solid quality and seems very durable!

Initially this plexiglass seemed very thin, and for the price I was a bit weary to use it for the purpose I chose: to protect an incredibly expensive lens from direct hits from a prop weapon which was made of very strong plastic. After the first take, the plexiglass actually came off the camera (because of our PA's bad tape job on the matte box) and the actress hitting it way too hard, but surprisingly the plexiglass hadn't shattered. There were a few mars (plastic scratches) which were incredibly obvious on the plexiglass, however to my delight, they wiped right off with a lens wipe. There were a lot of smaller scratches, but they weren't visible to the naked eye, and were invisible through the lens. This plexiglass withheld seven more takes of abuse and still lived to tell the tale. Definitely will be buying more of these for future shoots.
