Cant figure out how to add user codes

I spent a week messing with this off and on and it almost ended up embedded in my draw-wall from fighting with it! The problem is the manual and the translation, not the device itself. The manual sais to short the Reset jumper, short D0 with ground, then disconnect D0 after the green led flashes, then "click button". To put this in wiegand 26 output you just short the reset jumper, press *, then short the green wire(D0) with ground and that's it! D0 AND d1 output 4.97v and can go straight to a esp8266 gpio and lastly just make sure all your grounds are common, so 12v ground and esp8266 ground go together. You can set pin codes and users in esphome or use scanned tags, they both work with this device.

Title says it all. Instructions are in broken English so took a bit to understand how to convert to wiegand but once it is there it works with code and provided fobs. But not with any of my fobs I already own.

Expect multiple rounds of contacting this seller and having them not answer your question, but rather quote the horribly written manual that has procedures that don't even apply to your device.What I expected: Follow the proceedure for entering Wiegand 26 reader mode, enter PIN that gets passed to my external Wiegand controller. Pretty straight forward.What I got:1) My devices are apparently "new" models with different programming passwords than stated in the manual.2) Included manual states to RESET by shorting jumper under cover. My model has no RESET pins inside, verified by pictures sent by the seller and requires a code # 654321* to reset. This actually works, but afterward the default programming code only works as 881122 which is the older model with the physical reset pins inside. Using the newer model 123456 after reset does nothing.3) Wiegand 26 mode states in the manual it can be enabled by resetting, then shorting the D0 green wire to the GND, waiting for the light to flash green and then "click to complete conversion." This does nothing, never blinks green and what possibly could we "click" to complete the conversion? This makes zero sense. Asking the seller, they said to short D0 and GND, then power up device and wait for green light. This doesn't do anything either.Another customer stated that you just press * and then short D0 to GND and that enables Wiegand 26. I tried this without any success, but question if their unit had a physical RESET jumper under the cover where mine does not.Furthermore, the seller only responds to messages at 3AM the following day. If what they send you doesn't work, you're going to wait a full overnight in the USA to hear what their next convoluted instructions are to your question.These sellers need to clearly know their product better than this or flatly state there is no technical support for the item they are selling. You can tell the responses have no knowledge of the actual product because many times they don't at all apply (missing RESET pin as example)If this were a stand alone PIN or FOB controller that triggers a circuit by it's internal relay, it works just as expected. If you want to use it with a Wiegand controller to program user codes by internet portal and not standing at the keypad, look somewhere else. The odds are against you.

Overall, happy with the key pad! Wiring diagrams were not accurate and had to perform some trial and error. Key pad wasn’t unlocking the electrified strike. Ended up needing to complete the circuit by adding another wire from the grey wire (COM) on the keypad to the ground (GND) on the power supply.Not bad overall for $20.

Probably the best item I've ever bought for the price. It get used ever day at least 10 times a day. It is out in the weather and it still looks great! I have purchased several of these keypads for different locations and am very impressed with them. Very easy to program the tags. Not sure how to use multiple pass codes without the tags though. A+ in my book.
