This harness fits perfectly (5'11", 220 lbs). I agree with other posters that there might be confusion as to how this is supposed to fit and maybe that's why there are some poor reviews. It is designed to fit over your upper torso with the attachment point just below your sternum. I think some people think it is supposed to extend all the way to your waist, which you DO NOT want. Imagine being tethered at the waist and falling overboard and being dragged through the water. The water pressure would bend you backwards at the waist making it very difficult to recover yourself. This one attaches right where it should and feels comfortable and appears to be made very well. Without leg loops, there is the possibility of it being pulled off over your head if you fall overboard, so keep that in mind. I'm sure you would want something with leg loops for serious offshore use, but this is great for what I plan to use it for, coastal cruising and singlehanding.

Many previous reviewers think this harness is too small, really for children, etc. I’m 5’11” and weigh 155 lbs. it’s a perfect fit and would clearly fit far bigger guys (more on ladies later). The chest strap on a safety harness is designed to go just below the armpits, not around your mid-section. I sail and have a proper harness with crotch loops. But I wanted something simpler - this is exactly that. It’s primary use would be to keep me on deck, using my own tether. But if something went wrong, I like that it’s unlikely to readily slide up past my head. So, I’m very satisfied. My 5’3” spouse tried it. It only kind of seemed ok. I would say that women need to try it first and might end up returning it. Depends on your exact shape.

This is well designed and sturdy made harness well complying with industry standards. However, it is true that is made for fit adult. if you proportionally built do not hesitate to buy.Highly recommended as safety device for heavy weather.

I unfortunately found the item to be too small for a 180 lb male. The quality is ok but the size is not for adults. The vendor asked if I would take $20 instead of returning it. I reluctantly accepted and put this item in the closet where it will probably stay.

I use it every time I sail , not bad it's light weight. What I don't like is that it's to small for what it says as ADULT............ I'm 6'2" and 175 # and the belt and catch is at mid chest .........there is plenty of belt length but no shoulder room . I still use it and it's worth the money.

Good enough. I use it with a basic PFD offshore, nice to have the combo. A little hard to get in and out of.Edit: I'm 5'11 @ 170# and I thought the fit was good. Plus I sewed SCUBA cloth yellow sleeves to go over all of the straps so that makes it fit tighter, no problem. Weird safety equipment is black?
