Most important thing first: The light output from this illuminator is pretty darn good. Moving the controls out of the light assembly and onto the cord makes it particular sleek and compact. I do wish there was finer control for the brightness (it cycles from bright to dim, and dim to bright pretty fast) but it's easy enough to get it close to what you want. The ability to power this from USB is also particularly nice.
