You will not regret adding this to your collection. Well priced, beautiful and lovely to touch. I bought the green. I'm using mine as a swatch book for adult coloring : )

I've been looking for a long time, for a watercolor journal/sketchbook like this one. The paper is good, thick (doesn't buckle from washes). The cover is really unique and attractive. I like the brown one so much I got one and filled it with hot pressed paper also (more conducive for pen and ink) . Now am on my third total. I also like the fact it has many rings which keep the paper more secure. This model also lays flat when using. For my larger paintings use Arches or Waterford, but this is great to use anyplace for ideas, tests, and sketches in their own right.

I am very picky about watercolor paper and almost exclusively use arches paper. I was blown away by the quality of this paper. This is my new go to portable painting sketchbook and I love the binder format. I ordered more paper already for when I run out. The magnetic clasp and faux leather cover are very cute and it’s a great size.

I find academy is a much better cotton paper. The binder is nice though

Two things are essential when selecting a watercolor medium: the composition of the paper and its thickness. This sketchbook hits both of these with 100% acid-free 300gsm paper. The paper takes multiple washes without problem, and the 300gsm thickness means very limited bucking of the paper when lots of water is used. The hardcover makes pre-sketching easy, and the binding allows the book to be easily laid flat. It's an excellent sketchbook that will be on my repeat purchase list.

A terrible shame...this is a beautiful and sturdy sketchbook, just the size I wanted. However, there are dark flecks on almost every page. It could be how the item was stored before arriving, or it could be the natural characteristic of the paper. I'm not taking a chance with mould, so I'm returning it.Also note: the cold press paper is not textured on both sides as shown. I'm sure you could try painting on the back as shown in the photo, but you'd get very different results in how the paint reacts with the paper. This should be made absolutely clear in the description. Finally, there's no assurance of brand or paper composition on the sketchbook. It comes with no labels, and I'm wary of anything that advertises 100 percent cotton on Amazon, but offers no concrete assurance on the product itself.Buyer proceed with caution...

This little sketchbook is perfect for traveling. With the ability to remove a page, it’s so easy to carry to in my art bag. The quality of the paper is excellent.I definitely think this is my favorite sketchbook.

The hot press paper is not anything like Arches, it is thick and doesn't warp much at all. It absorbs color and yet still keeps the brightness. I like that I can play around and not have super high expectations of my art in this fancy bound journal. I use it for practice projects and color swatches. It came on time and in great condition.

Update! REFILL Watercolor Paper for this journal in Cold Press or Hot Press is available. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0D9N7Q4FG/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=A2CGOTZ0L1HKR1&th=1Brown journals come with CP and Green journals have HP. But you can buy either refill now.Nice enough quality watercolor paper (Cold Press) with back side smooth and the facing side with subtle texture. No problem using both sides of the pages! Daily practice and recording notes, swatches and sketches are important to me. Having the A5 size is perfect to carry around and the ring binder lets me remove, replace or rearrange pages as needed. I find that some reference notes and swatches are best off at the end of my sketch journal, so this is perfect. The magnetic catch closure is best for the way I carry my supplies, and it is low profile so does not catch on anything in my bag. I have a 6 hole punch for including more pages of different kinds of paper - big plus if you want to include other papers or plastic sheet for a small palette/test surface/page protector. Workhorse journal!

Beautiful journal, the pages are very high quality to me (I am a beginner but have used bad paper before), the aesthetic is very good and I love that it is refillable

Overall, it looks great. Nice cover, good magnate, nice paper. Very good for travelling. However, there is no information on the product. Also, it would be good to have the opportunity to buy a spare block of paper. But generally, it is very good. I like it!
