Used it to make a paint stirrer by welding a small metal propeller on the end and using a drill to rotate. Should outlast the plastic ones.

I bought these rods for use in a rock tumbling machine. I bought them to replace the 3/4" cold rolled rods that I was using. I replaced the old ones because they weren't straight. This means that the gap between the rollers gets narrower, and then wider as the barrels are rolling on them. This is not a good thing. So, I bought these to replace the cheaper cold rolled suitable for use as axle rods. These are better, but still not straight. I can live with a little wobble for now, but i can't imagine using them as linear motion rods in a machine that requires precision. I have purchased longer 20mm linear motion rods in the past, and I've recently purchased another. They are at least twice the price, but they are straight, and I know they will cause much less trouble with wearing out my barrels prematurely. The cost or replacing worn out parts is a factor to consider when choosing the components that go into your machines. I'll be going with the more expensive rods in the future. It will cost me less in the long run.
