It works good but you need to make sure the cable is lined up on the handle end before releasing tension.

Looked like it was going to be a heavy duty tool but found that the wire end breaks after 4 uses. I would have thought that maybe I just got a bad one, but the replacement did same thing.... however Lisle did cover it and sent me a different tool made by them, the long x shaped pliers worked great for any spring clamps.

Failed just out of warranty on a larger spring clamp on a diesel. Cable is too weak, and clamp squeezer bent and broke. DO NOT RECCOMEND!

If your doing any work on a modern automotive cooling system, this tool will make your life so much easier. Compress hard to reach spring clips with ease. I wish I bought one of these tools sooner! Spend the extra money and get a high quality hose clamp tool instead of a cheap one. This makes headache jobs into non-issues.
