I ordered this jacket to have a lighter weight, water resistant jacket for snow skiing. The temp was in the lower to mid 40's, so no need for a heavy jacket. The jacket was perfect for my needs. I am terrible at skiing so I hit the ground often and the jacket kept me dry and warm all day. The velcro straps on the sleeves of my jacket look different from the picture on Amazon, so maybe they made a change from what people are complaining about. I had no problems with the straps coming loose. The pockets close by zipper and keep items dry. The jacket lining is soft and comfortable, a medium weight fleece like lining. This jacket looks good and is very suitable for everyday use as we approach March and there are more days in the 40's. I did not wash it before skiing and there was a very slight smell from the water resistant material used. I did not find the smell very off-putting. I washed the jacket when I got home and it no longer has a smell and then wore it to work on a rainy day. I would definitely buy this brand again.

I was going to buy the (far more expensive) North Face Apex Bionic 2 softshell. I tried it on and the fit was too boxy. This Little Donkey Andy jacket looked great in the pictures, but it was so cheap I figured it couldn't be very good, so I didn't buy it. I kept seeing it and eventually I gave in and figured it was cheap enough that I could afford to take a chance on it. I love this jacket! The fit is slimmer than North Face. It looks great. It has excellent water and wind resistance. It's warm enough on its own for pretty cool temperatures, despite being light and thin. When it gets below 35 degrees, I wear a fleece under it and I'm good down to 0. This jacket was a tremendous bargain.

Surprised to find such quality and good styling at this price, cuts the wind and water with no issues, comfortable at a wide range of temps, warm when you need it but still breathable. The materials are very sturdy, it feels more like the $100+ jackets that I have worn. Overall a great "everyday" jacket that will get you through most mild-moderate weather conditions and still looks good enough for a casual night out.I'm 6'2" with wide shoulders and an athletic build and a large fit me well with lower edge falling a few inches below my belt. The lower edge will ride up when I put my arms over my head but I feel like that's unavoidable with the look that the jacket is going for. The sleeves are long enough which is usually a sticking point for me. Plenty of pockets, the lower ones are kind of an awkward angle but that's minor. Hood lies flat and keeps out of the way and being able to remove it is a nice feature. Will definitely be buying from this company in the future.

Pros:- Nice material. Can probably keep warm down to 40F or so with just a T-shirt underneath.- Definitely blocks wind and is water resistant. Light rain beads (but when pressed, it starts to seep into fabric).- Fit is true. I normally wear medium (5'10", 150lbs) and medium fit perfectly (In picture, I am actually wearing thin sweater underneath).- Cuff straps look cheap but get the job done. Without them, the cuffs are very wide and look bad.- Elastic drawstrings for waist and hood.- Hood is perfect sizeCons:- Came with a very chemical smell. I washed it before wearing it out and the smell faded in a few days.- Hood drawstring is not the best design. It is anchored on both ends segments sticking out into an adjustable spring clamp on either side. One of the anchors broke literally the first time I pulled on it (this was right out of the box). I cut out the anchor on the other side and removed the entire drawstring, then "redesigned" it so both ends are loose with knotted ends as shown in the picture. That left an unused hole on each side which isn't a problem.- I didn't like the rather ostentatious logos on the sleeve and bottom of the placket. After some careful examination, I was able to remove both with thin scissors and a pair of tweezers. One of the pictures shows the mark left by the round sleeve logo after removal. It's only noticeable when examined closely.General Comments:- I paid $40 for this jacket.- I have had this jacket for about 3 weeks and wore it roughly every other day for non-strenuous outdoor activities.- It would have been a 5-star jacket if it weren't for some minor design and quality control issues.**UPDATE: February 2022**It's been 3 years. I only wore this in the cold months, so roughly 4 months a year, about 4 times a week on average. Non-strenuous activities.I've since washed it a total of three times (machine wash cold, no detergent, gental cycle, hang dry).- The cheap cuff straps are done. The velcros no longer work, and require a lot of fiddling to get them semi-clasped. I'm thinking about gluing them shut (or try my luck with sewing?).- Water resistance has taken a toll. Water no longer beads, but the fabric is still thick enough that a quick walk in light rain shouldn't be a problem.- Other than that, the jacket still looks and feels like new.Didn't expect this review to blow up.
