The submersible powerhead is rather big and bulky to reach all the corners and crevices of a planted aquascaped tank. A smaller more flexible attachment to the inlet would be prime. The powerful pump could drain a 10 gallon tank dry in a moment. A 5 gallon bucket is overflowing before you know it with partial water changes. The adjustable long length handle is a big plus for my tall walled tank to reach the substrate. This is for the bigger boys only.

Worked great the first time. Cleaned it out and stored it away. I noticed a smell in the house of chemicals or something. Took a while to find out it was coming from the hose from this pump. Had to keep outside. Tried using it again and the pump makes bad noises and won’t pump. Definitely stay away. Probably not safe for the fish if it offgases a terrible chemical smell.

Perfect for water changes, and a nice assortment of cleaning attachments. Because there is an inline filter attachment, you don't even need a bucket to clean the substrate. Good suction and long cord, good quality construction. I'm glad I made the purchase.

This product does not work. The suction pump is so weak that no water was coming out.
