I almost returned this hat but I discovered the accompanying mask does indeed detach. This navy blue hat fits pretty well and looks pretty good on me. I believe it will be warm when I walk in the cold . The only hang up I have is minor : the fur lining is annoying as it protrudes from the hat around my forehead and sides of my face. It’s not waterproof but is comfortable to wear. In conclusion , the style and look of this hat is better than other hats I’ve tried and returned.

This hat is well-made and does what it says it will do. It's warm and has a useable face covering. I wear a LG/XLG hat size so I was worried that this one-size-fits-all might be too small. It isn't, by a long ways. My only complaint is that to tighten the hat requires "bunching" up the material at the back of your head.

I bought this to cover my face from the cold air and wind as they trigger facial pain. I noticed that regular beanies were triggering my facial pain so needed something that was not tight and adjustable. This was perfect and the face mask helps protect my face from the wind and cold. I love the pocket for the mask too! The style is different for sure but I'm so glad I bought it! It's perfect. Love the visor! Points for being waterproof too! Worth the price for sure! Want to buy another one in a different color!

This trapper hat is very warm, I love that it has a hat brim! I bought this hat for hunting and my trip to Germany this Christmas. I think I’m going to enjoy that it Germany as well as the deer blind!! The chin strap is easy to do with just one hand (which is especially helpful since that’s my only option!) and tightens up nicely.The faux fur on the inside of the hat is much warmer than the fleece one I have. The face mask is fleece and very soft and warm. I am very happy with this product and have gotten lots of compliments on it.••*Updated review*The face mask is a game changer! I’ve never worn a hat/toeboggin’/head warmer so warm! I’d give this hat 10 stars if I could!!

The top of this hat is boxy which doesn’t suit my heart face shape too much. I love the brim + winter hat combo though. The underchin buckle loosens up easily but stays snug while it’s on. I love having the control of a clip instead of having to tie like other styles of hats, it felt dorky for .2 seconds and then I realized my jawline and neck were warm and I stopped caring.The facemask is going to be excellent for the icy blast that is usually midwestern January winters. Not too challenging to breathe through and I love that it stores away inside the hat. You could also wear it like a chin strap or mouth cover. It does cause foggy glasses when over the nose, and if you don’t tuck it neatly, it looks a little lumpy inside its zipper pocket, but it’s not anything worth deducting stars over.It says hand wash only, I can’t tell what the brim is made out of but I’d assume (hope) it’s plastic.
