I got this to cement a spark plug insert in an air cooled vw cylinder head. I know that on occasion that area gets up to at least 500F. Other high temperature threadlock compounds release at lower temperatures.. The difficulty is that Locktite 2620 is a thick, not very sticky paste---a bit thicker than toothpaste, but not nearly as gummy. That make it hard to get enough into the threads to do any good. I tried twice. The first time didn't hold at all. So far the second attempt is holding. If that continues, then 5 stars are well deserved. Two things I haven't tried that might help are to (1) see if mild heating will melt Locktite 2620 so that it follows into threads better, and (2) see if it can be thinned by mixing with Locktite 262, which is good up to 450F.
