This cutter works great to cut Gatorboard and foam core board.The biggest complaint is the misaligned/junk scale. The scale is misaligned by 1/8" short on a cut. The scale is simply a flexible tape that has been adhered to the cross arm. To make it even more junky the scale is only 24" long and a second tape is added on to extend the range to 36".

After we cut about 10 foam board signs on this cutter the cutting head fell off. It seems the bolt that holds it on only threads in about 1/8" Really poor design....ugh!

Perfect, just what I was looking for.I use it to cut illustration board, and I cut it straight in 2 passes. I get a perfect cut in half the time than using a knife.Good construction, nice quality product. The 90degree angle is a little off so it will need to be adjusted.Other than that, it's great

This is not a mat cutter, just FYI. It trims but does not cut bevel windows. I own the 40" version of this trimmer, The T300. The trimmer was advertised in multiple locations as "heavy-duty" and I got it because I needed to flush mount an exhibit of 50 prints on 1/2" gator board. There is not much else out there in this price range, so I still highly recommend the trimmer - but with the modification.Cutting multiple sheets of 1/2" gator board, I ended up stripping the threads which secure the cutting head to the sliding aluminum block. It turns out that the bolt which secures the cutting head only bites 1/8" into the aluminum. Of course it will strip the much softer aluminum at some point, sooner or later. In my case, it was sooner. Logan informed me that I had "exceeded the design specifications" for their product, which I probably had. A big warning / caution in all the promo material would have been nice.Now the modification. I took the bolt and aluminum block to a local machine shop, which made an almost-identical but much longer bolt that now extends a full 5/8" into the aluminum head. It cost me $100. With that modification, it is now a five-star machine and I cut through 1/2" gator board like butter - with a perfect edge on each piece. There is one trade-off. The machine shop could not make a hex-key slot on the bolt, and so the dial on the cutting head which controls blade depth does not work. For me, not a big problem. I just manually adjust depth.The trimmer has one other great talent that Logan really should advertise. I mounted 50 prints on gator board with an adhesive and then needed to trim them flush to the edge of the board. I taped four strips of 315 GSM inkjet paper (fairly thick stock) to the 3/4" edge of the trimmer, turned the prints around so that just the excess paper was sticking into the trimmer, and trimmed it flush perfectly each time. The four strips of paper are necessary to account for the distance between the blade and the edge of the trimmer. I would love to have an accessory that snaps onto the edge of the trimmer for this kind of flush mount trimming.

Before Purchasing this product, I struggled cutting mat and foam board, cleanly, precisely and efficiently.Much of my photographic prints went un-mounted or were mounted on store cut boards which is pricey.All that has changed. This is a nice machine that works smoothly and makes quick work of cutting. My cuts now are always square and consistent. I love the work stop on the squaring arm-it is a real time saver. My only complaint is that the ruler on the squaring arm is off by about 1/16 inch and there does not appear to be any way of adjusting it. One can adjust the squareness not length measurement. A mild annoyance and easy to work around. All-in-all I am very pleased with this product.The machine has a professional construction quality and can easily handle production-type workload. The blade depth is adjusted by unlocking and raising the cutter, loosening a blade locking thumb screw and turning the blade depth adjusting screw which has 3 positions. The machine is a bit pricey so ask yourself if you do enough mat cutting to justify the cost.You should know that the total trimmer does not make bevel cuts. Just straight 90 degree cuts. Also it does require some elbow grease to cut thick mat board. It does use a razor-type blade to cut, so one should not expect the same kind of paper cutting precision as a roto-trimmer for example. It does work fantastically on foam board up to a half inch thick.
