Sometimes you may want the uber trackballs that have a gazillion buttons on the side (lol) - but sometimes you just need a simple one with a couple of buttons. I will confess that I'm a gamer - my 'gazillion buttons' reside on a Tartarus Pro under my left hand - *but* I still need a good solid trackball under my right hand - and this is it!I have purchased some of Logitech's more recently developed trackballs and they are 'okay' (and probably fabulous for some), but I've had connectivity issues with them and don't like the hoops one has to jump through in order to program the keys. As a result, I find myself coming back to this one. I hope they never stop making it. This simple "original" trackball is just hard to beat for comfort, durability and ease of use.

I got this to backup the same model that I have had for years. I got to because I had bursitis in my right shoulder from moving the mouse. Once I stopped using the mouse the shoulder healed. Before I got this I had learned to left-hand a mouse. But I was getting cramps in my left thumb. So, this has been the perfect solution. No shoulder movement and my right thumb never gets tired as the little ball is so easy and smooth to move. Love it! Wondering why I got a backup. The Mfg. discontinued it and I am worried the one I have will stop working some day. It’s like a belt for my suspenders.

Have used it both at home and at work. Took a while to get used to initially, but it love the ergonomics of it and it is easier on my hands and fingers than a mouse is, making me much less prone to get "carpal tunnel" type syndrome or fatigue in the hands if using it alot -- Your thumb does most of the work -- not your arm or fingers... Now, I still do use a mouse on my work laptop, but have used a trackball now for better part of 10+ years on my personal desktop PC. And Logitech simply makes the best mice and trackballs in my opinion, bar none. Highly recommend for anyone who has trouble using a mouse ...

This is a great mouse. My husband and I each have one. Your hand is able to sit comfortably in one place and just your thumb moves to control the rollerball and thus the cursor. You don't find yourself chasing the mouse around the desk. I am thinking that the battery has been at least a year.I read a couple of reviews in which people complained about the mouse being sluggish and not responding properly. My guess is that in their case lint has accumulated under the rollerball. You can correct this if you simply pop the ball out using the hole on the underside of the mouse and remove any lint from the small metal prongs that the ball sits on. I also take an eyeglass wipe to clean off the ball. It works like a charm.

A mouse is a personal choice and the first time I used a trackball I was hooked. And this is the best trackball I've ever used. You can't beat it in my opinion.Mouses are all hard to clean and this one is no different from any other mouse. But the only criticism I have with this trackball is that the right (middle finger) click pad is too hair triggered and I depress it inadvertently too often. So I slip a rolled up sliver of paper underneath the right click pad to stiffen it up.Works great - I love this trackball. An easy 5 stars

First in the interests of complete disclosure I readily admit to being a fan of Logitech except for the universal remotes they have stopped making after I invested Ian more than a few. All of their mice and trackballs are best in breed and capable of a lot more than moving around a screen given customization by application via Logitech software.. I have this and two of their mice all multi device capable as well as the ergo keyboard . I love all of them and recommend them without reservation. This trackball is a real value and bargain and the only thing less than perfect is the fact it uses batteries . Given that it is pretty efficient . I buy Logitech.

This was the fourth Logitech Trackball mouse I've owned and the third infrared wireless unit. I had keep separate units for laptop and desktop - home and office, and now in pre-retirement still like to have a spare. The price was a $2.00 or $3.00 under that of my local Office Max/Depot and the unit arrived ahead on schedule in original packaging and in perfect condition. My heavy use (office) unit finally broke, when the plastic tab that engages the left click mouse button could no longer lift the mouse finger clicker off the button, leading to all sorts of mayhem (button still engaged when right index finger was lifted) during use.Seeking the cause for the trouble, I disassembled the unit (lots of hidden screws) to discover an un-repairable cracked button tab acting as a spring to lift the left mouse clicker after depression. I guess after 1000's of left mouse clicks and perhaps some transport damage the plastic tab became fatigued and cracked after years of heavy use. I'm glad I had a spare and purchased this one immediately to replace the scrapped unit. The Logitech USB wireless transmitter, and associated software permits paring a single transmitter to multiple Logitech devices, e.g. wireless mouse and wireless keyboard, eliminating the need for more than a single transmitter. Battery life is excellent if you remember to slide the switch to off (red) when not in use.
