This is a great product! We have used a bin for composting and it is full with little breakdown occurring. We run this device once a week or so and it willl turn your compost into a soil like material in 2-3 hours. Easy to use and clean.

Customer service is awful and they make it impossible to cancel your subscription, so every 3 months I'm charged $30 for something I can't use. It's a great concept and although it smelled awful, we wanted it to work. After about a year our unit broke. They sent replacement parts and a refurbished unit, but still no luck. If that was it, I wouldn't feel compelled to write this review. The unit was very expensive and we were disappointed, but it's the subscription scam that compelled me to warn you all. Buyer beware- compost the old fashioned way because this isn't a good option.

My husband is amazed by this device everyday. I love that we don’t have to keep our scraps in a container on the countertop until we dump it. There has been no smell I’ve noticed from all our scraps being in there. It holds a decent amount. The charcoal was easy to put in. It’s quiet when running we mainly run it at night after it’s full. It is bigger than I was expecting but we have the counter space for it. My husband wants them to come out with a 5 gallon bucket size we can put in the garage haha

Good quality, easy to use, and great for if you live in the country and want compost but can't put it outside on your pile due to bears and coyotes. This was a great investment, also takes the hassle out of having a compost bin, we just fill it up as we go and keep the lid on, when its full we just switch it on over night. Its as good as your common sense when filling it. Lots of wet items produces steam, this is filtered and causes no problem, add things in moderation and you can't go wrong! My wife loves me more every time she uses it! Great gift for your environmentally conscious wife!

Amazing machine in 5 hours you go was kitchen scraps to soil. A bit larger than I expected ( larger toaster oven size) but it works very well. Thought I would keep it in the kitchen but have put it in the basement now as it took up too much counter space. I keep the bucket under the sink and when it’s filled to the line I just pop it in the machine. Love it.You will not be disappointed with how well it works and quality of the composted soil!!!

I really wanted to commit to this composter and make it a habit for life. It is easy enough to use but you need to attend to it regularly. Week three I didn't empty it for a few days. When I opened it, the pail and cover were covered in mold. Lesson learned. Week four I did not chop up the asparagus well enough and the woody tips jammed the machine. Again, easy enough to fix but messy. My friend LOVES it and has had no issues. It simply takes a bit more attention than I am willing to give.

I got this as a Christmas gift for my partner and we were excited at first but honestly, it's been a disappointing product. Wifi functionality is bad and we can't connect easily to our phones. The machine does dry and break stuff down somewhat into dry bits but I would hardly call it dirt. The gears occasionally become misaligned with the bucket and machine so it's a chore to get everything to sit flush and close the lid properly. I've read several reviews where the product can break and that's a very hard pill to swallow for a $700 device. Worst of all is the product support service is inadequate, untimely and maybe semi-condescending and rude. Kinda hard to tell because there is a veneer of good service but there is definitely a "tone". I'd hate for my Lomi to break and just end up with a giant paperweight. For a $700 product that does a couple things, I expect better service than this. Do not buy. It is soooooo not worth it!

I've owned mine now for about two weeks. It makes a very nice, fine, rich soil from your kitchen waste. The unit is very soft, about the same as a modern dishwasher, just an even low hum. But most of the time it is entirely quiet because you only run it when its bucket is full of kitchen waste, maybe a couple of times a week. You can run it at night and never hear it. It's easy to use - just plug it in, press the main button twice since the default setting works great, and you're done.
