Disappointed that an American-made product was defective. Not happy that I paid for paint and to have someone paint the doors and then discover defect.

Look great, size info was accurate which made choosing this item and installing it was easy. Price ok considering they are different. Happy with purchase.

I purchased this door (along with some weather stripping) to help with temperature control for my piano in the summer months. My house is older, so I needed to do a significant amount of trimming to make the door fit the irregular frame. I was really nervous about damaging the glass during the process, but it stood firm throughout all the circular-sawing, drilling, and sanding and I'm very pleased with the result! One of the toughest parts (as other reviewers have mentioned), was removing the protective covering on the glass after priming and painting the door. I had the most success tracing around the edges with a knife and then using the tip to peel up the sides, before slowly pulling off the whole piece. A little painstaking, but well worth it!

Doors arrived without damage. We used four of these for our large bedroom closet (2 openings, 2 doors each). So nice that these are real wood, not composites or stuffed with fillers. The wood is a little rough in places, especially on the raised panels in the lower section. So expect to do some sanding. We are staining After sanding we treated the wood with Sanding Sealer before staining. Its a quick coat that helps to even out wood stain. Followed with 2 coats of stain, light sanding between each. Finish with 2 coats of wipe on poly. They look great. Note that our particular doors had a bit of gray in the wood in the raised panel area, which is why we did 2 coats of a pine stain. In fact we just put two more in a small 1/2 bath.Glass is pretty, the design is painted on. Glass is well protected with a tough plastic film. Its hard to remove but still great as it protects the glass during shipment and during staining or painting.Installation was okay. We replaced existing doors and could reuse the tracks. Our house is a little crooked so installing anything with right angles always adds time to the task.

The door is beautiful. I had to cut it down for the height. I actually used a circular saw for the very first time. I cut it down and stained it and I’m so proud of myself . The door is well made.

Well built. They seem to be made from a soft wood and take stain well. They look beautiful once you're done. Be very careful not to let stain/excetera get underneath the plastic covering the glass. It is difficult to get off (used mineral spirits) and may cause some discoloration of the gold inlay. The pivot holes are drilled in the middle of the end pieces (top & bottom). This didn't work exactly right for me as the doors rubbed up against the existing door frame when I tried to open it all the way. I solved that problem by drilling a new pivot hole in the top and bottom cross members and it worked out fine.

The door is as shown in the picture. It is an unfinished door that you must finish yourself. So, if you want a professional type finish, you must be able to do it yourself, or get some help. Otherwise if a paint brush satisfies you, go to it. The door arrived undamaged and in a factory cardboard box and was surrounded by Styrofoam. This pleased me immensely because a lot of items get damaged in shipping and when I ordered similar doors from big box 10 years ago they arrived with plastic bands around them that impressed the wood and needed to be steamed. Also the doors are fairly heavy and the shippers probably do not throw large heavy objects around as carelessly as the smaller items. You do not want to have to return these items. The doors are slightly smaller than my present doors and I may need to add some wood (TBD) at the top frame of the opening. I should not need to say this but pay attention to the actual size of the doors when you buy. They have not been installed yet since I am still finishing them, but I see no problems as they use the standard bi-fold hardware available everywhere. The wood itself was clean and cut well with no knot holes or problems. Door knobs are supplied but I would suggest you buy better at your local hardware store. The door comes with the ACME Series BF30 2 panel hardware kit 52-2007 which uses a single 30 "track (for my size door). It is a standard 1" wide track which takes snap in snuggers (or optional slides) and is fairly common. Since I used two sets of doors for 60" of length I elected to buy a single 60" track (Stanley hardware kit, I couldn't find track alone) at big box as opposed to two 30" tracks which would leave a gap at the center ( which the snugger would hide but which just did not sit right with me). I may end up using my old slides as the snugger is not that impressive, I will see.
