These are a necessary component with plastic water lines. Just slip them in and put the ring over the hose and tighten up the nut. Works very well.

So these would be good for inserts in 1/4" OD tubing, with approx. 0.16" ID.

Installation in tubes on compression fittings isn't the only use. My wife inserts these into some of her resin art pieces so paracord can be easily passed through them.
