20th of Nov 2024: I change my review, the tool worked to cut 4/0AWG cable with rubber insulation, welding type of cable. The cut was pretty clean, not perfect but good. So, if it didn't work for hard PVC insulated cables, it worked for this soft insulation ones, this means if I would just help the tool with a cutter to strip off the hard PVC insulation, it could have worked. I have no interest in trying this theory as I bought another plier for that, plier that was rated to cut also 4/0AWG but it didn't so going to review that one too (a Klein tools plier).2nd of Sept 2024: my first attempt was to cut 16AWG insulated stranded wire but the result was a mess, I thought it'll do better with thicker wires but it didn't, the cutter stopped putting more pressure half-way on the 4AWG insulated stranded wire...I'll try next lubricating the tool, tightening the screws but for a brand new product this is 1 star - not usable.

This works well for the price point. So far I’ve used it to cut 4/0 about 10 times and it’s holding up so far..

I thought this would be much shaper to cut cable over 35 mm but only suitable for 35mm and below. Not sharp either.

This tool is not built correct. There is to much gap between the jaw supports and allows the jaw to spread. It does not cut off the cable cleanly. It allows the strands of cable to go between the jaws. It is not worth buying just because it is cheap. It does not work.

EXCELLENT tool for the price. I am an Electrician by trade. These ratchet cutters are excellent for the money. More compact than the well known brands. They will cut 4/0 AL SER (4/0-4/0-4/0-2) I like that I can OPEN the jaws if I need to, this is very helpful if you make a mistake in cutting location. They are a little bit heavier than the Klein brand (Same size jaws) but the price difference out ways this con. I've used them for a few months with no issues. I don't abuse tools so these should last me many years.Definitely Recommend.

I've cut 100's of large (95mm) cables, and 2/0 weld cables without problem. It doesn't like small (10 Guage) weld (many, small, thin conductors) as they get jammed in between the cutting blades. But I use a hand held cable cutter for them anyway. This is for the BIG stuff.
