If you're looking for a good quality rustic style door than this is it, good quality wood and easy to assemble if you have a little building skills. Knowing what knotty older is I knew what to except, I was hoping to match a stain to my flooring but couldn't come up with anything so I did the work to fill any knot holes and painted the doors and I'm very happy with the outcome

Great kit! There were some imperfections in the cuts and some pieces were bowed, but overall everything fit together as expected, just with some small gaps in places. My thought is that the imperfections add to the character of the piece. I wood-glued all the pieces and clamped them, then used 18ga brad nails for added stability. Since it's alder, I used some Minwax pre-stain wood conditioner to prep the wood for a more even finish, then went over every surface with Minwax's special walnut stain to match our new bathroom mirrors. Lastly, I did two coats of spray-on polyurethane to protect it from moisture. Everything came together really nicely in the end. If I could do anything differently in retrospect, I probably should have sanded the pieces, either using a random orbit sander or sending them through a drum sander. If you're going to stain this, make sure to use a wood conditioner before applying finish because alder is notorious for absorbing stain unevenly. The finish can come out splotchy if you don't prep the wood first.

The door showed up faster than expected time , which was great. We used it in our master bath remodel and it looks great! Contractors put it together and said it was pretty easy. I didn’t realize when we purchased the door that you can choose from a couple different looks when putting together. It came with extra pieces of wood for the different looks. Seems to hang good and slides smoothly

This barn door is very pretty and stylish, we keep on getting complements from my friends and family. Most importantly is that my wife loves it.As of this review I have not stained the door as the natural color of wood seems to be perfect for the location but will wait and see. I did receive some test pieces of wood that should help me pick the right stain. As for putting the door together all you need are wood glue, nail gun, mallet and some clamps. I did it all by myself but if you have an extra hand am I sure it would speed up the process. I let the glue dry for 24hrs before hanging.- used a 1.25” nail 16 gauge gun- wood fillling to cover the holes
