  • Provides complete protection from corrosion and chemical electrolysis
  • Protects wet sleeve cylinder liners from cavitation erosion
  • Prevents build-up of scales, deposits and slime that cause overheating
  • Significantly extends life of water pump impellers and seals

Lubegard Heavy Duty Coolant Treatment outperformed all other supplemental coolant additives (SCAs) to such a degree that it effectively stands in a league of its own.

The Penray PenCool 2000 and PenCool 3000, Cummins Fleetguard DCA-4 and Lubegard HD coolant treatment were all tested using ASTM certified procedures. These tests allow evaluation, and benchmarking, of corrosion protection performance. They included ASTM D4340, ASTM D1384, and ASTM D2570. Each of the products passed these tests, with the exception of the PenCool 2000. It failed due to its inability to provide adequate corrosion protection of aluminum. The Lubegard 2-in-1 heavy duty coolant treatment passed all tests with the most margin to spare. It provides aluminum protection with newer, proprietary organic technology than it's competitors. Additionally, Fleetguard utilizes phosphate for pH buffering - an ingredient that Detroit diesel does not permit for use in their systems.

Lubegard contains no phosphate, and receives across-the-board OEM acceptance. It contains wetting agent ingredients, which provide engine temperature reduction performance - eliminating the need and expense of using an additional product like Red Line diesel water wetter. Testing has shown that the polysiloxane in water wetter polymerizes to form a nasty layer of slime within the radiator. Lubegard does not contain any polysiloxane ingredients. The treatment eliminates the need to buy multiple products. It is the only supplemental coolant additive that contains complete corrosion protection and wetting agents, all in one. It is chemically engineered to reduce the surface tension of coolant, allowing it to more deeply penetrate metal surfaces at vital heat-transfer areas. This decreases operating temperatures and significantly reduces the possibility of engine overheating.

This product does not contain ethylene glycol.

Put this in my 12 year old dura max out here in Phoenix Arizona, were the air conditioning is always on high an it still 95 at midnight. It reduced the temperature by 10 degrees and I had just replaced the coolant earlier this year. I used have a bottle and gave the other have to a friend that was having problems with his 16 year old Cadillac

Okay, I have to admit that this is my very first time using this product. It is NOT like any other automotive type of anti-rust/ anti-corrosion material I have used previously. It is a clear pink liquid... almost a light purple. It does NOT contain any type of soluable oil or such at all. I cannot tell how it would act in any way like it says it does as a water pump lube etc.... I didn't say that it does not work for that, merely that I cannot tell at all how it would work like that. Okay? Now it uses two major nitrate chemicals to tie up O2 in the fluid so it cannot oxidize, and possibly will not corrode nor rust at all..... that sounds great. I am using it in the cooling system of my PU now, but have not had it long enough to really say +/- about the long term use of it..... I have a LOT of hope for it because of my industial background. We used to use such chemicals to stop all rust and corrosion in piping for cooling and heating in HUGE inside building internal loops - VERY effective - but some were certainly MUCH better than others. So far, so good, and I do really hope that this will be the best I have ever used. I will try to remember to update this eval next year with more specific details. For now: The concept sounds excellent, the true long term effects are as yet unknown to me, but it is NOT too expensive a product to use, and it does use some proven principles to make it's claims for excellent funtionality. (Note: You need to use a certain "mix" of the liquid into so many gallons of coolant, so don't just dump the whole bottle in until you sort of figure out how much you actually need to use.... that's not too hard to do, just simple math.) Good luck and enjoy!
